Knit a Fried Egg Pincushion! 👉 https://buff.ly/3sAxxlx
Need to make one of these.
just because this deserves its own post:
dressmakers, tailors, cosplayers, historical costumers, and generally any people who sew are artists
people who work with fiber (knitting, crocheting, etc.) are artists
embroiderers are artists
weavers are artists
lacemakers are artists
shoemakers are artists
leatherworkers are artists
textile, clothing, and fiber arts are still art forms, even though they’ve historically been devalued in many societies
credit. all. artists.
Also if you are in Canada, Espace Tricot is owned by a black woman as well although many may not have known. A lot of the yarn companies are indie dyers so please support them especially since a lot of yarn festivals were canceled due to COVID-19
Okay so I googled them and remade the list with working links so it’s more accessible, social media links are most likely present somewhere in the websites/shops linked here if you want to follow them (it was taking too much to list everything :/)
if I made any mistakes (with links or anything) dm me and I’ll edit

Crafty Thoughts: Vol 3
Does anyone else try to aggressively recruite people who say “I wish I could knit/crochet.” when they see you working?
Like, YOU CAN! It’s really not as hard as it looks. Go on YouTube. Oh, what’s your number, I’ll send you some links. Or I can teach you myself. Are you free this Sunday? I have some spare needles/hooks you can have. Try a few rows real quick. Here’s our pamphlet. Join us. We’ll take over the world together.
I make it a point to giveaway needles and hooks

5 Crochet Edges You Should Know
Such a great little blog post by Lisa Gutierrez on Craftsy.
Your choice of crochet edge can make or break your design. Leaving an edge unfinished is not the end of the world, but if you really want your project to soar, choosing an appropriate finishing stitch can really take it over the edge!
I will not buy yarn.
Someone lying to themselves (via call-me-pixie)
Stash is all. Stash is life.
I decided that my yarn stash was getting way out of control, so from now on I would only buy specific yarn for specific things.
Two days later, I’m standing in a yarn shop by the window where there’s phone signal, searching Ravelry for a pattern that would suit that yarn I just saw so I can justify buying it.
And I did.
Been there.
Every time.

I’ve started work this week at the Wooly Mammoth, a brand new yarn & fiber shop in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. I knew it was opening soon so I applied for a position and got the job. :D We had our soft opening this weekend and will have a grand opening tomorrow. It’s such a cute little shop with tons of locally dyed and spun yarn. Also, lots of Qiviut (muskox fiber).
