Haven’t seen this mentioned on here yet but it’s officially been 1201 days since DC has published a mainline ongoing for a Black character! So @jpenumbra on TikTok and YouTube has organized a boycott of DC comics until they start doing right by their Black characters!

When a company goes over three years disrespecting its Black characters like this (in a way its’ competitors don’t btw, even Marvel has multiple mainline Black ongoings rn) it becomes really obvious that they’re committing an intentional act of anti-Blackness. Black comic book characters matter and DC already has so many cool ones that they’re squandering and they deserve better. But even more than that, Black comic book *fans* matter. And we deserve better than this.

This is why the characters I actually like in canon or want to get together in canon are often different than the characters I like reading fanfic about. Canon I look for things that are more compelling or dynamic. Fanfic I look for dynamics that can be interesting or funny to explore in a fun romance story
