Happy Pride Month! I’m going to be doing the Pride version of inktober this month where I draw a lgbt comic character each day, so welcome to day one where I drew Vivian (Viv) Vision!

Blah blah, trends are fun, songs can be applied to different characters in different ways, let people enjoy making art, blah blah. We all good? I promise I'm never going to police what other people are allowed to make that isn't harmful.

BUT!

I always get a sense of bitter irony when I see someone make art or an edit about a character to The Hand and it's about a man. You may better know that song from the snippets “This isn't rage it's too specific. I like to hate symbolic limits” or “a hand, a spike, a physical fight, a flash of light, a curtain”. Or you may have never heard of this song before in your life. Either way this song is about the struggle of creative women to tell their stories and make their art. How the singer sees men approach it with confidence while she feels like she's taking up too much space trying to make her voice heard.
