Why does it feel like… she’s being watched.

because ,  simply  put ,  she  is .           ghastly  grizzled  laughter  echoes  as  crown  jewel  lights  up  from  beyond  curtained  shadows ,  allowing  the  poltergeist  to  float  in  through  darkness’s  emblem .   light  swirls  and  spirals  out  like  candlelight  being  torn  from  its  wick ,  hollowing  out  space  between  ghoul  and  little  girl .

oogh — his heart ! hand clutches to chest , wrinkles good jacket for a mock palpitation . leg lifts , body spins , and up raises flower in deathly passing . to the ground he goes , wilting just like his orchid .

                “ dearly beloathed , ” oh lord , he's making a soliloquy out of a eulogy . “ we are gathered here on this horrid mortifying day in god - forsaken heat and air conditioning to bid our adieus to the grouchiest geezer known t'uh mankind . ”
