Let me point out a few things.

Bertholdt legit grew up with this girl. He was always there for her. He trained with her.

Hell he was there when Annie first became a mindless titan.

This is not to say that Reiner wasn’t also there but heres the thing, REINER ACTUALLY WANTED BERTHOLDT AND HER TO BE TOGETHER

The thing is, you don’t hate someone who has always been there for you up until the day they died.

Also I am pretty sure Annie reciprocated his feelings BUT was more focused on the mission.

Also, they wouldnt have had that cute Junior High episode if it wasn’t canon. Because Armin x Annie is TONS MORE POPULAR, so is Mikasa x Annie and Eren x Annie.

Annie is shipped with these three because of her interactions with them.

She’s nice to Armin because he never did her dirty.

She was always nice to Eren up until she had to treat him as the enemy.

She didnt have much of a relationship with Mikasa but a sparring frenemy relationship sort of thing.
