This week is not only a pre-Easter week, but also the one that we are more close to our families, countries where we live. Spring, Easter, Love makes it very cosy and gezellig as it is popular to say in Dutch language. For me this week is also a week of Dutch designers, i am totally in love with them and soon even planning to visit city of Eindhoven, it is like a mecca for designers, considering that they have also an amazing school located there - Design Academy Eindhoven.
However, here the story is not about Eindhoven this time , but about another Dutch modern design city - Rotterdam and their great inhabitants, in this case - Studio Lorier.Â
I have taken the chance here to interview Sander Lorier, the main designer and creator of the studio and hope that you will really enjoy it.
Sander has started in the Rotterdam University in the program of Industrial design. There he discovered the whole process of simple design and functional products. With lots of experience in China and India, Sander returned back to Rotterdam. In 2011 he started to work on a collection of refreshing and contemporary products.Â
Was it always your passion to create something with your hands?
I really like to be creative and create new products. To get to a good designed product, it is very important experience the product in real life. First i will make prototypes, and test them a couple in and around the house. If necessary i will make improvements. Â When i am totally satisfied, the product is fished and i will make a series to sell online. Â To get to the most efficient production process, i need to understand the full process. I get the best results to do that all by myself.Â
What is the most creative and beloved idea that you have put into life lately?
The ceramic hookah is one of the most special pieces i have made lately. It is made of 2 ceramic shells, with a cork piece in the centre. it uses the unique properties of ceramics, which cools down the smoke and isolates very good. It is very modern styled, and will fit into a modern home.Â
Any future plans on developing your business?
I want to expand the collection with more furniture pieces. It will also be great to sell my goods at more shops, around the world.Â
What is your favourite thing at home and in the shop?Â
I am very fond of my desk. It is where all the work happens and where i can be the most productive. It is always a mess with sketches, models, and books. This leaves is barely room for my laptop. It is self made, with a uncoated metal frame, completed with a rough finish wooden tabletop.
Do you live in the small (up to 90 sq. meters) or big space? And how you feel about it?Â
it is around 80 sqm, which is think is really big. I recently moved from a place of 30 sqm, so there is still a lot of space left. I am currently working on a modular shelving system.Â
What can you advise readers of KleinSpace in terms of decoration and search of items for the house?Â
Decorate your house at your own taste. buy products which you can place on various spots in the house. this gives the flexibility to change your environment. Multifunctional products are great for that.Â

What if i am going to tell you that you can sit down and relax in the hanging chair in the living room with the view over the balcony? You will tell me - luxury. First time i had and saw a hanging chair was at my friends house in Utrecht. At that time i was more concerned of the ceiling stability and was quite afraid even to sit down there. Now the idea of hanging chair came to me quite naturally after a lot of complaints of Daniel about the empty corner in the house:)

Hanging chair reminds me of the future, even science fiction in a way. When the furniture is functional and doesn't contain any weight. In case you are wondering do buy a new green plant to put into the corner or may be a hanging chair, you might consider this experiment:)
Ok, let's officially say - that was the love from the first sight:) As Dany said: " One of the best compromises I've ever had while shopping. Liubou loved the interior design aspect, and I immediately pictured the "Death star":) David Wahl has created this masterpiece for Ikea PS 2014 collection and i am sure, that we will see it soon in almost every house. It allows you to have soft light , when it is in the closed state and an bright one when it opens. Believe me, we were playing with it a lot today plus as always with Ikea furniture, you would need to assemble it yourself. Have a good beginning of the working week:) Liubou

Happy Saturday to everyone! Yesterday we had a hectic day, including our kitten sniffing some small Lilly flower and then emergency room. Now we have certain house rules established: Â no Lilly's , only as a name or may be painting:) Lately, i also have been engaged in one activity, that many of my fellow bloggers in Holland have participated in - Histor Advice.
Histor was created in 1949, so you can imagine, how much history, experience and heritage this company has.  One of the recent projects that they have conducted was called "101 karakters" , you can read about here .  As for me, i just needed a little bit inspiration for one of my rooms in the house, which they provided and i am now very excited.
With re-organising our walk-in closet room, about what i have written here and here, it was very easy to forget what to do with the colour of the walls. Sietske from Histor has given us very valuable advise, about how we could sparkle a little bit the space, especially considering that the plan is not only to put clothes there, but also small working table and sometimes use it as a guest room. So now we are ready for a new challenge and you don't hesitate to contact Histor, advise can be also provided in English, and during April it is absolutely free!Â
You know how it is sometimes : you are buying an amazingly beautiful bouquet of flowers and enjoying it  for a week or so and then, unfortunately they die and you go and buy another ones. After reading  the book recently "Whatever you think think opposite", i have decided to give a try and picture that moment, when flowers are already dead, however still can be a very vital part of the interior decoration and your house.
BTW, the book itself can also provide you not only the point of inspiration for your own soul and mindset, however, also be a good decoration for the house or moodboard wall.
