Happy Sunday!

Thursday I went to “the cities” as locals call the quad cities in Iowa/Illinois. Really I went to Davenport. I went to see if I could find some rugs for the kids bedroom. I found some but they’re a bit small. However, I did find Bob’s Discount Furniture and I went there just to see what they had and came out buying a table set which we need badly. They also have fantastic prices. They’ll deliver it sometime next month, which is fine as we’ve lived half a year without it.

Friday when I came out of my house to go to work I found out they blocked our street. Evidently they’ll have to do some sewage work on Monday. We can still get in and out on my side of the street. The other side is completely blocked.

Work was busy Friday. Yesterday I thought it was going to be busy as well but it wasn’t. I did have to stay later than I was supposed to. My coworker who comes in at 10:30 and works the third shift, didn’t show up. My other coworker had to call him. She said that sometimes he falls sleep on his chair. He’s really nice and I didn’t mind staying later, he felt really bad and was very apologetic. I just think, dude, if you know this happens to you, set up an alarm. If you’re awake and good to go, good. If not, it’ll help you not being late. But what do I know?

David met Andrew and the little man halfway somewhere in Missouri, the little man will be here until Friday. They stopped by my work when they came back here. The little man woke up at 5:30. David woke me up and went back to bed! I went to bed at around 1am. I’m not going to lie, I was pretty annoyed about it. He said he took a muscle relaxer last night 😑

I bought some flower seeds at the dollar general earlier this year. I planted some outside with no luck. The stupid squirrels kept eating all the seeds. So I decided to plant them in a pot and leave them on the porch. Now they’re ready to bloom. We’ll see how they do.

Applied to the job at the bank.

Applied to the job at the clinic. However, my manager didn’t approve it because we don’t have enough people to cover all the shifts. I’m not sure if she would have to approve it if I had been there for over 6 months though. I’ll have to wait until they post the Sunday through Thursday from 2:30 pm to 11 pm shift. I think I have a good chance of getting it? I don’t know.

I ordered some Minnie Mouse bedding for Joplyn. It’s supposed to get here this Friday.

I have to finish doing laundry.

Another nice day! I’ve been catching up with laundry, vacuuming and dusting. I also have to update my resume and apply to a job at the bank and see if the new hours in my department are up. If not, at least the resume will be ready. It’s ridiculous they make you go through an interview and application just to change your hours. Who knows, maybe they’ll tell me I can’t cause I’ve only been there 4 months.

Today was such a gorgeous day, a bit hot and humid but not bad at all. These pictures are from this morning on my way to work at 6 am. It’s very peaceful. I just worry about the deer that are usually out that early in the morning.

Work was fine, it was steady for a long time but not bad. I still have a lot to learn but I feel like I’m getting more used to the work, of course it depends on the day.

There’s a receptionist position at one of the local banks that I wan to apply, I just need to update my resume. Hopefully I’ll do that tomorrow and hopefully it’ll still be up. I was tired when I got home after going to Walmart right after work and took a nap. Then I went walking. Instead of going through the town I went through the street that goes out of town. Now it’s late and I have to get ready to go to bed since I get up early.

Hmmm there seems to be an antique car underneath those plants, what a shame.

Friday at work, it was crazy busy until about 6 pm then it slowed down. Yesterday, July 4th, it was pretty slow until about 9pm. We only got one person with fireworks burning while I was there so it was great! Could had been much worse.

Today I’m off. We went to Peoria. We were going to eat at a Vietnamese restaurant that we tried before but it was closed. We tried this other restaurant that is a hole in the wall and we hit the jackpot.

Later we went to HomeGoods which is on a outlet mall that is pretty much dying. When we were leaving we saw a furniture store and went in to see if we saw a dining room set that we liked. Nothing blew our minds and it was a bit overpriced. Although I understand that everything is much more expensive now. We’ll keep looking.

Thursday evening we went to the little movie theater in town. You can buy bags of popcorn and theirs is really good. It’ll take us a while to go through that bag.

Now, I’m just enjoying the quiet while my very obnoxious neighbor is I guess on vacation. Haven’t seen him and the kids in a while.

I had planned to decorate the porch for the 4th of July but they’re still painting, they painted most of it, they still have the floor, it’s ok, we’ll hang the big flag and I already have the little flags out in the yard, let’s see how many will survive the crazy drivers going around the corner.

I did lots of laundry today but what. I really need to do is move my extra clothes from the one closet so Michael and Wesley can put their clothes there.

It’s so hot here, I’m considering going to the pool tomorrow. It’s that hot 🥵 it’ll be nice when Michael and Weslee move here cause they like to go to the pool unlike David. I usually end up going by myself.

Got sidetracked. Started the new schedule this last Sunday and it was nice. Now I have 2 days off and back to work on Friday.

While in Indianapolis we visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, their museum is very nice and has so much history. While interesting, it’s not really my cup of tea. I mean, I’m glad we went, but I really don’t want to go to a race. Janice does. They can go without me.

House is almost done being painted. They may finish tomorrow or Thursday.
