Raver’s Paradise: Phase 5 & 6 (1997–1998)
Designed by Peter Hayward and Ed Holding at Mainartery for Polystar UK, these CD covers are peak late 1990s rave maximalism. A lot of vectors, layered and chaotic compositions, 3-D renders, illustrated mascots, colors meant to energize, and the font Template Gothic commonly used in rave flyers back then. This reminds me of the works of TDR as well.
The featured artist Rave Base wasn’t a single producer but a studio alias used across the Raver’s Paradise series, curating high energy trance, hard house, and Eurodance tracks built for those abandoned warehouse all nighters. Phase 5 features names like Robert Miles, Dune, Moby, and Raver’s Nature. Phase 6 brings in Terra Ferma, BBE, Baby Doc and The Dentist, and RMB. You can still find these mixes on YouTube.
