"It’s bad enough that they’re talking animals but why can’t they be normal???"

Here are some designs I came up with for Bat Villagers!

The idea of bats as villagers is quite popular, and definitely not an idea of my own, but I certainly would love to have a few in my village!

I’d say their wings would work in a similar fashion to bird villagers’ wings in that they’d just bend like an elbow. It makes it easier when you consider the fact that no species has any sort of fingers in the game haha.

From left to right, top to bottom, we have:

Dracula, smug

He was going to be named Drake, but that was already taken by the duck, so a less inventive name took place. I’ve noticed a few smug villagers have a yellow and blue colour scheme ok so maybe only keaton and the ‘fringe’, eyebrows and heavy eyelids were a total necessity 

Echo, snooty

Lots of pink, ironic love heart shapes, strict unhappy mouth, and sarcastic eyelids are compulsory for all snooty patooties. period.

Radar, jock

Based on a fruit bat. nothing much else to say. probably my favourite of the designs.

Hallow, uchi

based on those stripey triangle lolly things you americans seem to love at halloween. I’m not a fan of this bats design, I need to tweak it quite a bit, but you get the idea.

Rhesus, cranky

Would have been named Vlad, but it’s too close to Vladmir, an existing name. Fang would also have been good, but it’s already taken. The large smiley mouth and the cute curl on his head don’t really match his grumpy personality and dark colouration, which makes him a little creepy, but its perfect that way.

Dusk, normal

Based on a ghost bat. Design may be tweaked a little, but I like the simplicity of it.

The catchphrases for bat villagers would include words like sucker, sonar, flutter (or some other variation of a flying ‘sound’), boo and ghosty.

I know a lot of people have been wondering what the hometown hero rumor means, so I decided to look them up in case anyone else is interested c: I got these off of the acnl wiki I beleive.

I was inspired to make a visual guide to the PWPs and the villager types by the list I previously reblogged. I prefer to see the villager type that specifically requests and the PWP price. Mostly for personal reference but I’m posting just in case this might help anyone else. :3

Summer’s here! Time to hit the beach and *hopefully* find some familiar faces! On Saturday, July 12, simply put your URL into your TPC, and set sail for the international island. With some luck, you might run into another tumblr user! The more people taking part, the better the chances of finding someone, so don’t be shy over participating! This is not exclusive to ACNL blogs, however, you need to have a Club Tortimer Membership to join in!

*You can join by buying membership from your own island for 50 medals.*

As always, it’s important to keep some things in mind:

MIND YER MANNERS! Be patient and polite to everyone you meet; it’s free, simple, and the decent thing to do.

Play nice regardless of whether you’ve found other bloggers or not.

Be careful not to bring/drop anything valuable on the island. You can organise trades in your own time.

Feel free to chop and change or hang around the same island all day, it’s up to you.

Remember that not everyone is up for trading FCs, so don’t be upset if someone won’t add you.

If some bugger won’t leave you alone, you can block them by tapping their TPC on the bottom screen. Unfortunately, in some situations, your best bet is to just turn off the wifi entirely. Make sure your stuff is safe in the basket first!

The game says it enough, but don’t give out any personal info, especially if it’s not yours.

Chances are, you are going to run into 12-year-olds (who might not even speak your language) a lot. It’s inevitable. Some of these will probably be typical jerks/beggars/desperate for bells/weirdos, and some of them will be sweethearts. Either way, you might need to do a lot of island hopping.

Have your own fun with it! Last year, some people brought surprise gifts, left bells, and all sorts of things on the islands, but this isn’t obligatory. The day is about going out to have a good time!
