Month 1: New Beginnings
I bet you all thought I had vanished! Ha! Well, I kind of did -grumbles- Remember how I said that my and Demetriās wedding wouldnāt be a smallĀ event? Well....yeah. Letās just leave thatĀ fiasco right where it sits. You remember Bellaās wedding? Well, seems the Volturi are beyond capable of...out doing even poor Alice. Honestly, Iād of preferred Alice doing my wedding at least then it mightĀ of stood a chance at being kept small!
Sadly this journal entry will be...short. Iām worn out from running around the countryside with Demetri. Heās starting to enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Which I guess is a good thing -laughs- but I find he enjoys it more when he has someone other than Felix to hunt with -laughs again before yawning- Well, Iām tired and need some sleep. May write more later!
Day 9: Home
For days I laid recovering but once I was healed, I was racing alongside Demetri as he hunted just miles outside of the city of Forks after being granted permission by Carlisle to hunt the local population of homeless. Heād already fed and now we were racing through a forested park when we both slowed to a halt, my head lifting as I scented the air before feeling his cool hand running through my fur as we watched as Sam and his pack paused to watch us before we turned and raced off. My life was no longer in America but was now firmly rooted in Volterra and days later, I stood once more on a hill overlooking the city, the wind rippling through my fur.
Laying down, I watched as the sun slowly dipped below the horizon and with a twitch of an ear, I knew Demetri was behind me and stretching slowly, I rolled to my side, and all but growled happily when he scratched his fingers through my loose fur which was shedding out. Winter was over as far as my body was concerned and Demetri had taken to brushing my coat out, which often resulted in him turning into a vampire sized wolf pile which left Alec, Jane and Felix holding their guts due to their fits of laughter. Apparently laughing too hard and too much still could hurt to a certain degree even if youāre a vampire!
But thankfully, that stage would soon be over and my shorter summer coat would be fully in, something even Marcus was grateful for. Speaking of which, I slowly get up and stretching, follow Demetri as we race back to the castle and leaping the wall to the court yard, I surge over the grounds towards the castle before I come to a halt and smirk as Demetri glares playfully at me. Iād actually managed to beat him and at first, this had annoyed him when Iād first managed it, but now, he took in stride. Phasing, I smiled when he rested my cloak about my shoulders before we headed for the throne room.
Itās here that we see the three kings clearly arguing over something and seeing Demetri smirk, I know instantly, itās not something thatās terribly serious and they soon stop when they realize weāre in the room. Seeing Marcus nod to me, I make my way over to sit in the throne thatās next to his. A new addition that had seen many covens that had visited us, clearly curious to why my presence didnāt send Caius into a fit of rage, considering his hate for Children of the Moon. But when I phase before them, with clearly no aid of a moon, they soon realize the answer; Iām a shifter not a true were.
Demetri had mentioned heād had something special to ask the kings and Iād been a bundle of curious nerves but I wasnāt prepared for him to look not to Aro or Caius but instead to Marcus.Ā āMy lord, with your permission, I would like to ask if I could marry your soul daughter?ā He asked while keeping his head bowed respectfully. But I was surprised when Marcus instead of answering turned to look at me expectantly and without any encouraging, I lunged into a startled Demetriās arms while he quickly held me close to prevent us from falling as Aro chuckled lightly.Ā
āI dare say that you have your answer my boy!ā He laughed as I smiled up to Demetri. It was time to plan a wedding and knowing the Volturi the way I did, it wasnāt going to be no small thing!
Day 8: To Forks
Nearly a month later, I looked up from reading next to Marcus while he stood, when the throne room doors slammed open and Santiago entered leading a blonde haired vampire. After hearing what Irina had to say, I must admit, I was uneasy. This was a serious crime if true but Aro seemed to believe her and days later, the guard in itās entirety was summoned and after dressing the part, followed Marcus out to the waiting jets. 14 hours later, we landed in a deserted airport that the Volturi seemed to own, though the notion didnāt surprise me. Sensing Demetri behind me, I turn and smile when he leans against me, and whispers to me.Ā āI may have to carry you Mi amore. The place we are to meet with the Cullens is a ways off.ā I smile and nod and allow him to lift me up before weāre racing behind the others.
Minutes later, he sets me down and smiling up to him, I barely notice Marcusā look of approval as Demetri briefly hugs me before we head for the nearby snow covered meadow where we can see the few witnesses Carlisle has managed to assemble. But nearly instantly, I sense them, hear them even, and I nearly halt in my movements had Demetri not realized quickly what was going on and moving to my side, he watched as Felix came to stand on my right side as I managed to come to stand next to Marcus, a faint and surprise mumur coming from the other side from both the vampires and the shifters. Clearly Alice hadnāt seen my presence and I shot Afton a grateful glance. Weād been working on his mental and physical shields for days now and thus far, he had excelled at every challenge thrown his way.
When Edward made his way over to us, I shot Marcus a curious glance but otherwise remained quiet. I had a funny feeling that Aro wasnāt going to judge anyone too harshly, or at least, I hoped so, and as if hearing my thoughts, Edward shot me a look, a look that saw Aroās gleeful smile, drop. He knew I was still uneasy with what we would find, knew every fiber of my being was on the highest alert possible but thus far, Renesmeeās scent hadnāt alerted my beast to come out. A fact that no doubt, hadnāt escaped Aroās notice and when he asked to see Renesmee, we all watched curiously as she was guided over to us by Bella with Jacob and Emmett following. Looking to Afton, I watched as he gave a brief nod, before I felt his shield encompass me, protecting my mind from Jakeās.
As the minutes ticked by, I watched as Alice and Jasper then came out of no where with two others following them. Though I wasnāt really paying attention, I soon realized, it was over before I even looked back. Heh. Goes to show how well my attention span is! But as I turn to leave with Demetri and he pulls me close, I feel it, sense it, smell it and hear it; TRAITOR! And before anyone has any idea of whatās going on, Iām flying past the guard, yelping in pain as I phase as Paul slams into me. Disoriented from the sudden attack and the thousands of thoughts and emotions slamming into me, Iām barley able to kick him off. I only barley hear Carlisle yell to Sam that if he didnāt order Paul to stand down, heād be killed but before Sam could give the other, Paul is ripping into my back and howling in pain, I rear to my back legs in an attempt to crush him below my own weight, when suddenly, he lets go, while yelping in pain. Jane! Thank the gods! Injured, I whine as my vision blurs from the blood pooling below me and I realize with a shock, heād hit an artery.
It was this sudden realization, that sent Marcus and Demetri to my side while Carlisle flashed over to us, my jaws hanging open, my eyes unfocused, unseeing, through the haze of blinding pain in my back. Iām barely blinking, only doing so when the pain in my eyes becomes too much to bear on top of the pain in my back. Paul is no longer yelping but I can see Sam is furious with him. I had imprinted on Demetri. It wasnāt something I chose to do. Itās something that just happens and Sam sees and understands this. Aro is clearly impressed with his anger as he orders Paul to leave the meadow after phasing to his human form and walking over to me to help Carlisle. Iām shivering at this point. I feel colder than I should and slowly my paws stop holding me up and I slowly slump to the ground, my head falling to rest in Demetriās arms.
I can feel Carlisle stitching the wound up, feel him stitching the artery back together, halting the blood from falling out of my body at such a rapid pace.Ā āShe needs rest, but she needs to be kept away from Paul for a while.ā I hear Carlisle say as Demetri gently lifts my human form into his arms, mindful of my injury. Huh I must of phased and donāt remember it. I can barely hear Samās voice, barely hear Demetriās telling me to stay with him as I sleep into a deep slumber. Demetri was cursing when he saw the grey colored wolf lunge at his mate faster than he thought possible. But when heād heard her scream of pain, heād reacted by looking to Jane pleadingly. She hadnāt needed any encouragement. Sheād unleashed her power in a display not often seen before heād rushed to Kiyās side only to smell blood and lots of it.
When heād seen the wound in her back, heād been stunned that she still stood but could only attribute that to her being Marcusā soul daughter. But when Carlisle had finally managed to stich her wounds together, he had all but fled to the house that the Cullens called home where once there, Esme guided him to a spare room. It is here, he rests Kiyās sleeping form down onto the bed, still being mindful of her wounds. Laying next to her, he holds her close, hoping sheāll recover and taking comfort in her steady heart beat.

Day 7: The Ultimate Gift
Itās been a day and a half and the Kings had yet to leave the throne room. Hell they refused anyone entry except for their own personal guards and even then, they only allowed three in. It was odd even for them from what Iāve been told and as such, everyone was uneasy, even more so when the entire guard was summoned, but the anxiety rose to an all new height when this consisted of all 30+ members.
It came even more of a surprise when I was finallyĀ summoned, though I wasnāt nearly as anxious as the others but in the offset chance, I still showed up phased to my wolf form and warily made my way down to the thrones, only slightly freaked out when the entire guard snapped to attention. But once the doors closed, did I realize everyone was formally dressed and in the back of my mind, I began wondering if I was walking into a death trap.
As if sensing my worries, Marcus beckoned me to him and moving slowly to his side, I rested my head on his lap and nosed his hands before he spoke to me.Ā āGo and phase back my dear.ā He stated as I frowned warily before stepping back and doing so, my human form falling into place smoothly, still clothed. My hair cascaded down my back as I stood before him and his two brothers, but my gaze was still wary.
Aro however smiled and considering the amount of time, Iāve spent with all three brothers, I knew when his smile was vindictive and when it was genuine and seeing it was the latter, I relaxed instantly. Suddenly, Aro spoke and instantly I was alert.Ā āKiy, you may be wondering why you were summoned last. You have also noticed the guard was uneasy. And you also noticed my brothers and I havenāt left this room in 24hrs. You may be wondering why just as the guard is.āĀ
I honestly wasĀ curious to learn why. I honestly figured it was because weād be left with one less coven to deal with and canting my head curiously, watched as Aro nodded to me.Ā āAfter much discussing, we have decided, you will no longer remain Marcusā personal guard. You have gone beyond what we expected of a shifter to do. And he has seen your bond with him strengthen after this last fight. As such, it would honor us, if you would consider becoming his daughter, instead of his guard.āĀ
Okay I wasnāt expecting that! Stunned into silence, I can see Marcusā faint smirk knowing it was a shock to me to be asked such a question. Heād learned Iād been driven from my pack. Learned Iād left everything in America behind to travel Italy. If anyone knew me, it was him. Aro allowed me the time needed to wrap my head around the sudden question but the second Marcus stood, I was leaping into his arms with such force that he nearly toppled back into his throne and hearing his chuckle, knew my answer pleased him.
Pulling back, I turned to see Aro exchanging a smile with Caius before I turned to look at the assembled guard before seeing Demetri standing at the front with Felix but I nearly jumped out of my skin when my old necklace was removed, and a newer one, was placed around my neck. It still carried the Volturiās crest, but it was a rose gold pendant instead of the usual yellow or white gold worn by the guard themselves. It was then, I knew my entire rank had changed and quickly I worried of the friendships Iād made with each of the guards and looking to Aro, saw he was looking to me curiously.
āMy rank may have changed, but...I ask that my friendships remain intact. Iāve worked hard to become friends with so many of you. Donāt think a necklace change, or status change, changes whoĀ I am as a friend. Iād still die for each of you.ā I state clearly, grateful that my voice doesnāt fail me despite the wide range of emotions going through me at that moment in time.Seeing Felix smirk, I turn to look at him and then to the twins. Seeing their faint smiles, I feel reassured that nothing between us has changed despite my rank change.
My only question that evening, as I laid in my new room, was how far would I be pushed to test my loyalty to those I held dear. I worried very much about this. Unable to sleep I get up, grab a robe and head for Janeās rooms in the Guardās wing of the castle. Knocking, I wait till she answers and seeing the surprised look on her face, I give her a sheepish smile.Ā āI canāt sleep and was hoping you could offer your sister from another mister, some....help...I guess?ā I was floundering well before Iād begun and hearing Alecās door open, watched as he walked the short distance to us before Iām pulled into Janeās room.
Smiling, I sit on the floor before the fireplace and watch as Alec flops on the couch before me while Jane sits next to me. Slowly I explain everything to them and Alec gives me an understanding smile before sitting next to me and hugging me.Ā āYouāre our sister. Just because youāre our sister slash princess slash daughter of our King, doesnāt change our friendship with you. Iāve even heard the same reply from Felix and several others.ā He states as I nod and smiling, curl up to them. Itās how Marcus finds us the next morning. Iād apparently fallen asleep during the night to early morning hours. Smiling at the scene before him, Marcus quickly held up a hand to silence his curious brothers who smirked when they saw the twins curled around Hitomi, who lay burrowed into the pillows.
Aro had to admit, he enjoyed seeing his brother happy, enjoyed seeing the guard happy but more importantly, his coven felt whole finally. After so many years of collectingĀ those for their gifts, he was starting to see the familyĀ he had before him and he couldnāt of been more grateful to whatever gods who helped make it possible for him. Heading for the throne room, he smiled when his brothers followed him.
Day 6: To Battle
Itās been nearly three months since any nomads have caused us any issues. The three kings had decided it was as good a time as any to go visit a nearby coven but something within my very soul said they were in danger and well before Felix had returned, battered and clearly injured, I had already left. Racing through the forest that lay just on the outskirts of Tuscany, I thrilled in the surge of wind over my fur, the feeling of the forest below my paws and through all of this, I could feel my bonds with Marcus, Jane, Alec and Demetri getting stronger. Meanwhile far ahead, Demetriās head snapped up when he felt Kiyās mind brush his own and he could see she had the same affect on the others within the guard. As if guiding him to strike those within closest range to him.Ā
Hearing the coven leader hiss at Marcus, he spun only to watch stunned as a blur of white fur shot from the trees and slammed into the leader as he lunged for the three kings. The sound akeen to a crash of thunder before Kiy dropped before the other coven and standing to her full height, snarled low, fangs glinting in the faint light of the moon, her fur glistened and seemed to shimmer as she moved forward. Clearly thinking she was a Child of the Moon, the coven leader coward away in fear, knowing full, that such creatures held no remorse for who they killed and their speed was beyond that of a vampires. Hearing his begging, Kiy curled her lips back. Sheād seen his attack, sheād seen his target and with no warning, struck. The coven leader shrieking in pain as she circled him.
Stand and fight you coward! Or have you no backbone to even defend your coven and their actions against the Volturi! She snarled to his mind and hissing, he lunged only for her to meet him and rip his left arm off before tossing it, onto the steadily burning pile before turning to growl low. Aro had to finally admit. Heād seen Caiusā temper in battle, but Kiyās was slowly beginning to rival his and even Caius stood in stunned amazement. When next the coven leader struck, Kiy simply grabbed him by the neck and ripped his head off and tossed it into the flames, before standing atop his body, eyes flashing in the light of the moon before she turned and walked up to Marcus and nosed his hands, instantly calm and reserved despite what he and his brothers and their guard had just witnessed. Nosing into Marcusā hands, Kiy curled close before Marcus beckoned for her to follow him and his brothers as they headed for the castle.
Once there, I wander off to go and check on Felix and upon finding him, phase to my human form to check his minor wounds over. I never knew what Marcus was saying to his brothers in the throne room, but I had a faint idea that there would soon be one less coven in Italy. Either way, Iām sore but more tired than anything and watching the twins and Demetri play a video game in Alecās room sounds more entertaining than laying in my own rooms alone does.
Day 5: Evening
Iām exhausted and itās been a long day to say the least. I discovered that during the time it took Alec to pretty much knock me out cold to the time it took Marcus to get me out of the room, two of our newer guards had nearly lost it when theyād caught the scent of my blood. So here I was, heading for the training room and once there, nudged the door open to see the two guards in question sparring. Though the guard instantly snapped to attention when I entered but a quick glance had them relaxing before they watched as I phased with ease to my human form, but what I did next could of very well been a death sentence, had I not locked my gaze to Samās and Jasonās. Iād slit my left hand open.
Instantly they were in front of me and the rest of the guard looked on warily.Ā āSam. Jason. Relax. Your hunger doesnāt control who you are. You control it. You both arenāt newborns now so this must end before someone gets seriously hurt or worse.ā I state firmly as I hold my bleeding hand out to them and watch as Sam warily lifts my hand in herās.Ā āI donāt understand why you would knowingly endanger yourself mālady.ā She whispered as I smile.Ā āIām in no danger Sam because I trust each and every guard in this very room, in this castle.ā I reply easily enough as she smiles up to me before hugging me gently soon followed by Jason. Smiling, I hug them back as my palm heals. Smiling I pull away before moving to where Demetri has continued to stand frozen in place and seeing my approach, he pulls me close and smiling, I turn in his arms to watch as the guard returns to their practice.Ā
That evening, Iām sitting in the throne room when Caius enters and notices me sitting alone, reading a book Iād kidnapped from Marcusā vast library. Iāve yet to hear his approach and so engrossed in my book, I nearly jumped out of the chair I was in, when a cloak was rested about my shoulders and seeing Caius smirking at me, I roll my eyes before settling into his cloak.Ā āMy lord.ā I acknowledge as he sits across from me.Ā āWhy are you alone Kiy?ā He asks softly as I sigh softly.Ā āI needed to get away from both Marcus, Demetri and the personal guard you and Aro assigned to me.ā I reply softly as he frowns at this.Ā āWhy?ā He asks as I sigh and set my book down, thinking before replying.Ā āIām not used to people caringĀ about me. Itās a new thing to have it happen when I was chased from myĀ āpackā if you will.ā I reply easily as he frowns but nods, dropping the subject as I return to my book.
It was nearing morning when I feel someone lifting me up and upon instinct, I burrow into the arms, only to realize itās Caius whose carrying me but Iām simply too tired to care and fighting between sleep and awake, I notice heās carried me to Marcusā rooms and once there, simply enters and hands me over to a startled and somewhat worried Marcus till he realizes Iām merely half asleep and thanking his brother, he carries me to my rooms which are next to his and laying me down under the blankets, covers me before placing a careful kiss to my brow as I slip into a deep slumber. Little did we know, the peace weād built would be shattered for a final time.
Day 4: Late Evening
Itās been several days now despite what this journal entry says. Iāve managed to phase and itās been a welcome relief. Any remaining injuries have healed and since then, Iāve been summoned to the throne room. Iām nervous as Iāve neverĀ been summoned before so Iām not sure whatās going on or whatās going to happen. Iāve already made my way to throne room doors and Felix and another guard, Afton I think, are standing there and seeing Felix smile, Iām a bit confused but walk through the door he and Afton hold open. Entering, I see Marcus seated on his throne while Aro and Caius are standing off to one side near the table that holds the wide array of books. Not sure what to do, I wait to see who speaks to me first.Ā
To my surprise, Marcus beckons me over to him and walking over, I rest my head on his lap, thoroughly enjoying his touch on my ears before listening to him as he speaks.Ā āAs you may know my dear, each of us have personal guards, the wives included. However, for the most part, many of our guards have been recovering from the recent attacks, which limits the guards we have forĀ āpersonal guardsā. Normally Felix, Demetri, Jane and Alec are our guards, but as of late, theyāve been needed for other, more pressing matters. However, you have proven yourself more times than I can count. Most recently, you took an attack aimed for me and it pains me to know you suffered.ā I halt him by nosing his hands, showing no harm was done and seeing him smile, I simply bury my head into his hands more as he continues.Ā āAs such, I have decided to include you as my personal guard.ā His words caught me so much off guard, Iām left blinking in surprise as he smiles down to me before slipping the Volturi crestās necklace about my neck.Ā
āDonāt worry, when you phase, it wonāt constrict you or anything.ā He stated as I nod. For several days, my routine was normal. I spent the majority of my time in the throne room. Either laying in front, beside or behind Marcus. Aro was clearly impressed with my loyalty to his brother and even Caius had warmed up to my presence somewhat. So it was, one day, when a visiting coven entered only to see me curled up before Marcusās throne. I was asleep when they entered and spotted me but the second I caught their scents, I was wide awake, my ears twitching as I watched their approach. They were wary of my presence. Good. They were less likely to do or try something, or at least, I hope that would be the case. Aro spoke first to them, listened to them speak while I stayed close to Marcusās side, but it was at this moment, something behind us caught my attention and turning my head, barely had a chance to bark a warning before a small child slammed into me, the pair of us flying head over tail into a pillar and yelping in pain, I laid there, stunned.
Dazed from the rock debris that fell on my head, I barely watched as Felix managed to grab the child before Marcus was at my side. Blood pooled from my head wound, my vision blurred from the injury. Slowly I felt Alecās power wash over me, helping me to drift into a painless sleep and once I was sound asleep, did Marcus lift me up and carry me from the room. Hours later, I woke up to find my head resting on Marcusās lap still and shifting my weight, realized my head wound had healed and looking up to him, noticed the worry in his eyes. Whatās wrong?Ā I asked to his mind as he smiled and pulled the heavy blanket over me more.Ā āNothing young one. Rest. We can talk about it in the morning.ā He replies and nodding, I drift back to sleep, while burrowing into the blanket and him more.
Day 3: Late Evening
Iāve woken to find Iāve been dressed in a black silk sleeping gown. Huh. Must of been Demetri. Thereās no way, if what Marcus says is true, that Demetri would allow another near me right now, not with my being so weakened. Oh man, I hurt all over. That bitchās gift sure packed a 1 - 2 punch to the gut thatās for damn sure. It hurts to even move, and I canāt even phase which would speed things up. -sighs- This utterly sucks! Hmm someoneās coming....-trails off when I see Demetri entering and as if sensing Iām awake, he comes to my side- What does one say to their potential mate? Iāve imprinted but does he even feel the same pull? Is imprinting the same for a vampire as it is for a wolf? Ugh! I wish I had more answers than questions! I know Marcus would of explained things to Demetri on how IĀ was being drawn to him, but....does this mean anything to him?
-sighing, Iāve yet to notice the look of concern flash in Demetriās eyes. Had I merely looked, I would know the affections, the attentions, were returned and felt 10 fold but for years, Iāve been a lone wolf and so I donāt notice until he lifts my head, forcing me to look at him-
āStill your thoughts Mi Amare. Imprinting or not, I feel the same way. My whole world jerked to a halt when I saw you. If that isnāt the call of the mating bond than I donāt know what is.ā -states Demetri- Huh, I guess he does feel the same way. Even still, Iām still uncertain but for now, Iām content with his answer and as such, curl into him tiredly. Besides, Iām not much good to anyone in this weakened state and from what I can gather of my bodyās functions, itās going to be awhile before I recover fully. Closing my eyes, I never hear him hiss when he looks at my right arm which bears the tell tale scar of a vampireās bite. Huh. I forgot all about that. In fact, it happened so long ago, I canāt even remember the vampireās name who caused said bite. I canāt even remember who reversed the affects to be truthful with you. I briefly feel Demetri pull me close against him while Iām still under the blankets and breathing deeply, I slowly start to drift back to sleep.
It feels good, honestly, to be able to relax, to feel this safeĀ while being able to sleep so deeply. I canāt remember the last time Iāve slept so soundly. Perhaps itās because of Demetri that this is the case? Whatever the case may be, Iāll be healed within a few days, but for now -I snuggle closer to him- Iām content to just drift away on endless clouds of peaceful slumber.

Day 3: Late Afternoon
I awoke late it would seem and Iāve been moved to a new bedroom as well, though I canāt be certain as the bedrooms in the castle all seem to share the same color schemes; blacks, reds and golds. Wait! This scent! I know it, well, sort of. Itās that guardās! Why the hell am I in his rooms?! -stands in growing alarm and frowns before moving to the door and nudging it open, darts out into the hallway- Huh. Iāve been moved to the guardās wing. I can smell Felix, Jane and Alecās rooms but the other guards Iāve not yet met. Best to make myself scarce least it causes trouble. -trots off before moving to another door after following Aroās scent and peers into the throne room and stiffens- more nomads? Why are theyĀ here? Havenāt they had enough fighting with the Volturi? Do they wish to have their entire coven such as it stands ripped to shreds?
Watching these idiots plead their cases is rather amusing at times but also boring. I donāt get how Aro can stand it. Reading their thoughts and knowing heās been verbally lied too. Heh, Caius has spotted me but he looks...worried? Why is he worried? Heās a warrior for crying out loud! Wait. This nomad is threatening revenge for the loss of his mate? I donāt recall any female vampires being here the last time unless. -twitches her ears and leaps forward just as said female vampire lunges for her and snarling, rears to her hind paws, Aro showing visible anger at being lied too as I manage to subdue the female only to yelp loudly in pain-
I know this isnāt Janeās doing. I knowĀ what her gift feels like. This female seems to share the same gift but instead of it being a damn illusion, sheās capable of making it real! -Snarls low, fighting through the pain despite the blood now dripping from my jaws and nose before standing firmly in place, my ears pulled back along with my lips- I know Felix canāt help because it seems, sheās able to affect more than just one person cause the poor guyās lying on the floor as well. Ugh! I was never cut out for this but I swear the Fates are testing me, to see if Iāll crumble under this crap. Well, they thought wrong! -Lunges and snarls low as I manage to sink my fangs into the otherās neck- Iām weakening due to her power, and if I donāt succeed soon, Iāll be in alot of trouble pain wise. Ah, there we go. Her headās off and the pain is ebbing away like a tide, but damn, I feel so tired.
I can hear Aro saying something and Caius yelling orders. He never yells unless itās serious but dear Gods I hurt too much. You know, someone once said, if youāre going to die young, go out with a bang. Guess this is it for me. -Slowly crumples to the marble floor but frowns tiredly when strong arms hold my head up- Heh, seems Demetri caught me. Iāll never admit it to anyone but I like this guy alot. Itās a shame really, that one vampire was able to do so much damage. But then, that was her intention it seems. Marcus is at my side now, trying to keep my nose clear of blood and someone has just yelled Carlisleās name. Wait! When did the Cullens get here? Ugh, Iām too tired, too sore, and too weak for this. I just want to sleep but Demetriās voice is keeping me awake. I can hear Carlisleās voice saying Iāll be fine but damn it, I sure donāt feelĀ fine.
Hmm I feel like weāre moving but I canāt really tell. I just want to sleep. Oh gods a bed! Finally someone listened to my prayers! I can see the worry showing in Demetriās eyes as he wipes the blood from my jaws and nose, but Iām sore very tired, so much so that right before him, I phase back to my human form. Okay, thatĀ may have been a bad move! Iām freezing! And holy shit! Iām naked! Where the hell are my clothes!? Oh gods! What a grand way of becoming a lush on someone elseās bed! No matter how much I may like this guy, I didnāt need my liking him to show thisĀ way! Hmm, he doesnāt seem to mind. In fact...heās laughing! Ugh! -I pull the blankets over myself, sore and tired and drained of my energy-Ā āMi Amare, you are beautiful, even in this state.ā Says Demetri as I frown and eye him tiredly before watching as he closes the curtains blanketing the room in wonderful darkness, darkness thatās only broken by the fire glowing in the fireplace. Slowly, I drift to sleep, never noticing that Demetri has laid down behind me and is carefully rubbing my bare back.Ā
Demetri couldnāt believe his eyes let alone his ears when Aro and Marcus had told him, his Soul Mate had entered the castle and that he wouldnāt believe his eyes when he saw her. Sure theyād been right. So very, veryĀ right. When heād first seen the albino wolf walking next to Marcus one day, heād felt his world come to a crashing halt. Heād never thought heād find her, his mate, after nearly several years of searching, but there she was, walking next to Marcus who was speaking to her silently as if she could speak back, though, judging by the way his lord would nod, it seemed she could very well do just that. When he next saw her, she was sitting as a woman, next to Marcus in Aroās throne as the two spoke softly about something. Heād been mesmerized since then and had taken great pains to follow her whenever she went off alone. And now, here she laid, on his bed, naked, though not of her free will, battered and hurting. He could feel the shivers of pain that would go through her, and just once, prayed he had another gift that could ease it.
Feeling her shift in her sleep, he watched as she curled into him and smiling, he pushed her orange colored hair off to one side before watching as she slept.Ā
Day 2: Evening
Itās been a weird day thus far. It seems those nomads wanted to kill the three kings. If their screams of pain are anything to go by, Iād say that plan backfired quite horribly. Needless to say, Caius has...lightened up if you will, where it concerns me. Heās even taken an interest in how I am fairing thus far but Iāve avoided giving him or Aro my full trust on the matter. Marcus knows Iām still worn out, still recovering, but trusts my judgement. Jane and Alec have been amazing thus far but this scent that clings to me like a glove, has me curious. I know itās one of the guards but who I donāt know and Iām feeling too lazy to go and track this person down.
Eh. Maybe not lazy, but worn out. I barely made it back to the library which Iāve discovered to be a safe haven from the guards before collapsing before the fireplace. Itās weird you know? Vampires having lit fireplaces when one wrong move and poof! Theyād go up in flames. Makes me wonder if itās just for...decor purposes or a reminder of the warmth they no longer are able to produce. Ah well, Iām sore is all I know. -twitches an ear as the door opens and frowns- Hmm that scent, itās that scent thatās been covering me! -Slowly gets up and peers around the couch only to see Demetri- Hmmm, heās the tracker Janeās told me about. Whatās he doing in the bloody library?Ā
Not that Iām complaining! But not many of the guard come in here. I guess only Marcus enjoys books, well, Aro and Caius do but you know, books seem to be Marcusā only love well, aside from his deceased wife. What is this guard are up too? He seems overly content to just...sit at that table and ignore me. -cants her head before heading for the day but jerks to a halt when Demetri speaks-Ā āI have to thank you for protecting my Masters today. We hadnāt expected the nomads to be so...cocky. Itās been known that wolves do not like our kind and for good reason. Weāre natural enemies. So itās a welcome relief if you will, to know at least one, does not share the same views as her kin.ā Well then! Iām glad to know heās not lumping me in the same group as the other shifters!
I merely nod to him before leaving, to be honest with you, this pull that I feel towards him is almost as if Iāve imprinted on him and to be honest with you, that would never be accepted let alone tolerated. Even if he feels the same pull, I could never be accepted into his coven. Itās a dream. A nice dream, but a dream nonetheless and itās one filled with grief and pain at the end. Iāve learned long ago that I will never be accepted and Iāve accepted this. Perhaps itās the Fates way of punishing me for being a wolf. Who knows but I know one thing, if Demetri values his position within the guard, heāll start to keep his distance and simply stay clear of me and I will do the same. -pauses outside the throne room doors, ears pulled back before nudging the one door open.
Inside I see Marcus and Aro, Caius is more than likely with his wife so I make my way over to Marcus and curl up next to his throne. This has become a routine with me. A routine heās happily accepted and one even Aro and Caius seem more than happy to accept. I jerk to a halt realizing that Marcus has said something but Iām so lost in my own thoughts that I hadnāt noticed until now and looking up to him, I rest my head on his lap while watching as Aro lifted one of my front paws, a stunned expression showing on his face at both more than likely my own thoughts and what Marcus had said to him, but Iām still too tired to acknowledge anything.Ā āMy dear. It would seem one of our guards has become the very reason you exist.ā Stated Aro as I look to him too tired to comprehend whatever it is heās trying to say and as if seeing this, Marcus uses his vampire strength to pull me onto his lap.
Itās a move most likely never seen by anyone judging by the looks on their faces, but even still, Iām tired, so very tired and within minutes of his doing this, Iām sound asleep, the chill from his body a soothing contrast to the warmth from my own and it lulls me into such a deep sleep, that I know Iāll be grateful for it once I wake up.
