The Eridians misunderstand him, and proceed to panic because they only have one human. They only have one human but it turns out you need to keep them in packs. They can die if they're isolated for to long and they can't let Grace die this is bad bad bad.

So they send a message to earth, asking if anybody would be willing to volunteer to live on Erid with Grace. They stress that while this is a life or death matter, they need the human to be a willing participant. That all of their needs and wants would be met and that the Eridians would give Earth information and technology in exchange. The volunteer would be given a life of luxury in exchange for living on Erid with Grace.

Unfortunately, there is a mistranslation, and the humans think that the Eridians require a sacrifice otherwise they will use their resources against earth. In order to avoid a possible interstellar war with an alien species, they choose a convict who has a life sentence to be locked in a bare rocket and blasted off to Erid.

Let me just list some things:

Wolfwood calls him Vash

Vash shoots to kill out of rage for Wolfwood after having a flashback to his words

There's five days where Livio isn't at the orphanage. Five undocumented days to us we didnt see what happened

Wolfwood searched for Vash for over two years with no proof he was alive and no assignment or threat that made him search while holding onto his gun which he would have had to go get

The echoes of Trimax are so strong on this I could say they are reincarnations of Trimax Vashwood and it actually fits the narrative way too well

Unrequited love to true love is truly my way to go! 

Allow me to ramble a little about this, if i may…

In my obviously not canon dynamic, Dark Cacao falls in love with Pure Vanilla at first sight, yet Pure Vanilla is head over heels for White Lily. I wouldn't call it one-sided in its entirety, there is some flirting here and there, they definitely have feelings for each other, but Pure Vanilla cannot let go of his feelings for White Lily making it really difficult for them to actually have something. Pure Vanilla knows it would be too cruel to excite Cacao with the hope of a relationship if he knows he has feelings for someone else, at least a little.

But! They end up being together! After the main story, Odyssey, and a lot of shenanigans, they both work on their issues and manage to end up in a healthy relationship. Pure Vanilla finally lets go of his crush for White Lily, giving himself completely to Dark Cacao. In turn, Dark Cacao is more open with his feelings, stops being so cold, lowering  his guard to trust his partner at all. Basically that old cheesy couple everyone either loves or hates. 

Let's say he is that weird cat PV found sopping wet in the doorstep and decided to keep him.
