okay so i think the progression is like. vendetta leon = dadsituationship —> di leon = dadhusband —> re9 leon = dadboyfriend… & any other leon b4 that doesn’t rlly give dad at all to me except maybe re6 but specifically in the stepdad your mom randomly picked up except he’s 15 years younger than her & likes her more than she likes him way LMAO
but talking about re9 leon specifically … i think the dadboyfriend role is a direct response to the di dadhusbandry (ignore that they’re from different canons TO ME THEY’RE THE SAME!!) like he ultimately realizes that being all domestic with his daughter is obvi limiting her bcs she’s devoted & he feels horribly guilty abt it so he pulls away w/o cutting you off entirely … ofc you don’t see any point to loving anyone else bcs they’re not dad & cesting it up is genetic in the kennedy line. i think he’d still cuddle up with you on the couch & cup your face while he fucks you & but be very intentional abt maintaining distance. like he buys a house in his dadhusband phase for you two to play married couple in & then gets cold feet about it two years in so he leaves it to you & gets an apartment across town. he visits like once every two weeks & takes you out to dinner & goes down on you in the backseat but he never stays past breakfast … also anytime you try to make things more serious between you as an actual couple he pulls the dad card like “you’re my daughter!! i love you more than anyone!!” except he doesn’t say i love you in a romantic context ykwim
but also like i think he’d get incredibly jealous if you did start seeing other people to any romantic capacity bcs you’re supposed to be his wife … even if he can never really commit to the marriage bit LOL so sometimes you pretend to go out with other people & get super ambiguous on if you slept with them or not so he’ll fuck you extra hard… #cheatcode
