Take it you're one of them? Nothing wrong with being a bit awkward around babies. Maybe you just need some practice. I'd be happy to lend you an overzealous three year old that will definitely give you no time to overthink it! Did you enjoy the Ren Faire? It was definitely a new experience for me I'll admit.

I am, and I'm not sure about the need to practice. I just feel like we're not made to get along, the babies and I. So thank you but no thank you! I did enjoy it, it was quite nice to watch people fight... and to fight, too, period. Did you enjoy this new experience of yours?

It was one of those mornings that would follow a short night. Kit hadn't even partied too hard. She hadn't partied at all, actually. But sometimes she just couldn't sleep, as if Morpheus was trying really hard to avoid her. Instead, she would think about the past, about the mistakes she had made, the things she was missing, the ones she had enjoyed but would never experience ever again. And then, she'd wake up in bad mood.

Location: Little Corner Market

Her grocery shopping was supposed to be fast. Kit didn't need much, just to replace the few things she had eaten in the fridge she shared with Michael. Her basket was almost full when she heard another woman talking out loud. "You should just take whatever pleases you," she suggested.

“Oh, trust me. I hear everything going on in the town. I love the gossip.” One of the things about Kit that he enjoyed the most was her use of sarcasm. It was a language she was so fluent in, and always made him laugh. Today was no different, a chortle rumbling in his chest which only deepened as she went on. “That would be an instant mood killer.” He mused, feeling the couch shift beneath him slightly as she stood. “Could you grab me a beer? I think I deserve one after that victory.”

"Of course you do. That's the spy in you. People don't realize you're listening to them and then, here you are, with all the informations in your bag." At least, that was what Kit was doing, when she was bored at bars. She would listen to others' stories and save them up for later. "If you ever forget to wash the dishes, I'll buy you that teddy bear. As a revenge", she teased as she got up. Then, after a tiny nod, she walked to the kitchen. There, she grabbed a glass of water and a beer from the fridge. Then she came back with her hands full, finding her seat on the couch again.

"You know the old phrase, no news is good news? That's what I'm going with here," she nodded her head resolutely. But now, something would have come of it, she was sure of it! Her friend would get off without any issues. At lest, that was the hope. "It's either that, or we set up a little tip jar at Universal Rocks and I donate all of my money to your good cause," she laughed, bumping her shoulder back into her friend's, unable to help the wide grin that slid across her face. It was just nice to joke around, have someone she could laugh with, truly. "I guess at least you know to not ever, ever go near green Porsches again."

No news is good news. In Kit's mind, that sounded great. She didn't need to hear from the guy. Not to mention that she had no intention in letting him ruin the rest of her life for some scratches she wasn't responsible for. "At least if it ever happens, I know who I'll have to say thank you to," she teased. "But you're right. Next time I see that car, or another fancy shiny one, I'll just walk the opposite way. Cause like Taylor Swift says, I've seen this before and didn't like the ending -- or something, I don't listen to her enough to actually know the lyrics."

"It's true, the alternative is throwing the umbrella away and having to buy a new one -- and they're not cheap." Not if you were getting a good, high quality one, anyway. Although given how much trouble the one that Kit had chosen was giving her, he might argue that a new one would be a good idea. But they could fix this one in the meantime, glancing up occasionally to check that her progress was going well. "So far so good, right?"

The idea of having to buy a new parasol was not filling Kit with joy. She was used of paying attention to her expenses and that one wasn't planned. "Let's try to save it first." She could still ask for a new one for her birthday, but she had some better ideas in mind to celebrate another year around the sun. So she focused on her task and nodded, "Looks good on my part."

A billion words went through his head, and Ryder said none of them as she swiped at his legs and he felt himself get tripped up, the sword at his back doing nothing to help him regain his balance as he hit his knees. Rather than giving in, he grunted, pushing his weight around to roll onto his back and push up hard and fast with his sword, preventing her from hitting him while he was down as he scrambled for his feet, trying his best to get up and away from her. "Damn it!" he grumbled before he found himself panting, getting into fighting position and giving her a glare. "You fight dirty, Ellison!"

Now she understood why so many people fought back then. Knights might have had a wonderful life, because while he was escaping from her, she couldn't help feeling powerful. She wouldn't admit it, but she might even start to appreciate it. This fight. Seeing him rolling away and getting into fighting position again. She let it appear for a short second as she smiled. "Well no one's telling me stop, so I guess it's still in the rules," she retorted. "But you can back out, you know. Save the very last piece of your dignity."

Somehow throughout the day, Gabriela found herself agreeing to try her hand at archery with Kit. "If anyone is going to be the Mockingjay, it's you. You have her rebellious nature." Gabby mused with a smile. "I could absolutely see you leading an army of rebels."

Kit couldn't deny Gabby's words. She did was more rebellious than her sister. "Maybe, but I don't think a lot of people would follow me. They'd probably think I'll get them in trouble or something." Which would be true, to be honest. "Wanna go first?" she asked, showing the nearest available bow.

"And if someone does have the same bag, I can challenge them to a duel, right? In true renaissance fashion." Iris grinned at the thought. "Without the food it wouldn't have even half the charm it has with it, because eating historically inaccurate food is pretty great."

The idea made Kit laugh genuinely. "Please, do. And please send an invite, that's the kind of shows I'd like to witness." Much much better than a drama performance, for example. "To be honest I don't really care about history so to me, that's just good food," she shrugged.

Arriving at the ship, Sylvia linked arms with Kit, making her way to the viewing area. "It has to be, it's pirates sword fighting!" In Sylvia's mind, at least, the only things more fascinating at the Fair were the other dangerous acts such as sword swallowers.

Sylvia made a point. If it was just a tiny bit like the Pirates of the Carribean movies, it was going to be great for sure. So Kit focused on the show when the performers got started. "I wish I was a pirate," she sighed. The freedom, the fights, the adventures? She would have signed up right away.

Sure, a part of him wanted to just throw down the sword, rip off his mask, and tell that she won. She was probably more athletic than him, stronger than him, probably quicker than Ryder was. But… then there was that stubborn part of him that knew that he could take her own, maybe even win, if he put his all into it. "Low blow," he growled out, bringing the sword up as though to aim for her arms, her upper torso, before spinning around and swinging at her legs, instead, figuring that his only shot at this was going to be playing dirty.

The fight could last forever. Was there a rule to stop the opponents if neither of them was winning? Or would people just watch them till the end of the day? Cause it was obvious that they would do it. Kit wanted to win. She wouldn't let him live with the feeling of victory. She would rather pay for car damages than losing her pride. As he spun around and put his own balance at risk, Kit saw an opportunity. She dodged his attack, only to stretch her leg a little and trip him up. And just to help him fall a little bit faster, she hit him on the back. If he wanted to play dirty, she could do it, too.
