ESCAPE

The soft morning air lured him back to conscience like a loving mother awakening her child with the slightest of touches. No sound could be heard except for the soothing rustling of curtains and the large windows left open welcomed not only light but also a significant chill that made Dohyun shiver, leading him to tug on the blankets and shift positions aiming for a warmer spot. What he found, however, was… unexpected to say the least. Upon turning to the other side, his arm and leg found rest over an embossed shape he knew did not belong in his bed while his chest met a warmth so tender it felt pulsating.Alive.

Despite being half asleep, the male could not fully ignore the third and last odd occurrence: that familiar fragrance tickling his nostrils. Grudgingly, Dohyun parted his eyelids and got blinded by brightness for a moment long enough to set his mind in search for logic. Hair. That was the first thing he saw once his sight found focus. Charcoal black strands. Sleepy eyes scurried everything within sight range, just barely perceiving the neatly arranged room yet getting the same feeling of familiarity from before but the drowsiness was way too strong for him to fight back. That could wait a little longer, he mused, snuggling up against the body in front of him, a small grin out of pure comfort tugging on his lips as he allowed himself to drift away to sleep once more.

          His eyes tightly shut, he felt the light breeze caressing the skin of his arm that stick out of the blanket. His silhouette molded in the bed as all of his weight pressed against the mattress. No school or work to worry about; Sunday mornings were great for that reason. Thus he let himself lay in bed longer than he usually would. A world where he was free of worries, free of thoughts and free of responsibilities, the male fell deeper into his slumber. Nothing was more comforting than an extra hour of rest.
