KiScon is upon us!! The Con Book is ready to be sent out to our attendees, our delightful artshow is ready to rock, our favourite Trek mugs and shot glasses have been polished, and we are ready to welcome you all aboard next week.

Therefore – *takes out the megaphone* – Attention, Attention...

1. Last call for flight KiScon 2025!!

If you have not yet registered for KiScon 2025, here's your reminder that registration is only open until the end of the 27th of October 2025 (timezone Anywhere On Earth, i.e. UTC -12). You can register here.

If financial considerations have been holding you back, please do not be shy – ask for a scholarship. Thanks to our very generous members, we still have several scholarships available – no questions asked. Send us a message to [email protected].

2. A few last reminders

If you are already registered to attend the convention, please keep an eye on your email inbox (the email address you used for signing up!): The Con Book with the schedule, and all the important links, and the login details for our Member Zone will go out later today. If you do not find it in your inbox, please check your spam folder.

Please make sure to update your Zoom to the most recent version and check whether your headphones/mic are working. We recommend using headphones if possible.

If you want to make the most out of your KiScon experience, please consider joining us on our Discord server (if you haven't already). If you are already a member of our "KiScord", please check whether you have received the KiScon 2025 Attendee role that will give you access to the con-exclusive channels.

Double-check your profile/user name on Discord and Zoom; using your badge name is best practice. Please consider adding your preferred pronouns.

Make sure you have snacks, drinks, and quick/easy meals available for your con weekend. Hours go by quickly when one is glued to the screen, and we want you to be well hydrated and nourished to fully enjoy the con.

KiScon is your time to shine: Get your cosplay and Trek shirts ready.

2. Dress rehearsal at Pub Night today

If you have any tech questions and need more guidance or want to try out things in a smaller setting, you are invited to join us at Pub Night today, 25 October 2025, 2:00 PM EDT, in our usual pub night zoom. You can also reach us at [email protected] with any questions. We are happy to help you, but please do not wait until the con starts, as the concom will be busy hosting and moderating.

The clock is ticking, autumn is in the air, and our KiScon weekend is coming closer and closer! Time to sort out the cosplay props, iron the Trek T-shirts, and ready ourselves for con farr. Meet us at the appointed place, but first ... please have a look at this newsletter. :-) 1. KiScon 2025 Program Survey (only open until 1 October!) has gone out to current members. The survey is only meant for already registered attendees or those who plan to register for the con.

2. Scholarships

Thanks to generous donations from several of our members, we have a limited number of scholarships available for this year's convention. If you or someone you know would love to attend our online KiScon but financial considerations have been holding you back, consider applying for a scholarship! Every fan welcome, no questions asked. You can apply for a scholarship by writing to [email protected] (The con registration is open until 27 October, 2025.)

3. Reminder: Vid Shows

Are you a vidder and would like to show your work(s), be they new or old, at one of our KiScon vid shows? Then please register your vid(s) until 1 October, 2025. You can find the form and all the details on our website.

4. Con Book Submissions / Dealer Space

If you have a dealer membership, you get advertising space in our Con Book, i.e. the program booklet, in addition to your individual dealer channel on our KiScord). Please let us know soon what you would like us to include in the Con Book (e.g. a link and description of your Ebay/Etsy/Redbubble store, your logo, a list of zines you have for sale etc. – something to whet our con attendees' appetite!)

We are also happy to include info on upcoming zine projects, fandom archiving, fic and art exchanges etc. The Con Book is a great opportunity to spread the word about K/S projects.

Panel and activity ideas for KiScon?

We will send out the big programme survey later in August, in a separate email, and you will be able to vote for your favourite topics. So if you would like to see your ideas and suggestions on the survey, please send them in as soon as possible: [email protected]. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

3. Reminder: Artshow and Auction

An artshow needs ... art! It can be older works, new works, traditional art, digital art, photos of your crochet works etc. You can find all the details on the KiScon website. The deadline is coming up quickly: The KiScon Art Show and Auction is open for submissions until 15 Sep 2025!
