fire and blood corlys would never posthumously insult his grandsons this way
"mothers and daughters existing as wretched mirrors of each other: I am all you could have been, and you are all I might be”
Princess Larra & Queen Naerys
A mother and daughter so similar yet so different, both married off by their fathers and stuck in a hostile court but one is given a key and allowed leave while the other is jailed into a life not of her own choosing by the very same man who gave her mother the freedom to leave. I can imagine a younger Naerys hearing the gossip that still persists at court of her mother even though she has long left Westeros and hearing about this assertive woman who is so different from her, who not only knows what she wants but knows how to get it especially from her husband Viserys, hearing how Larra had Viserys wrapped around her finger and at her beck and call and maybe then there's a little part of her that imagines a life with her mother still around, a life where she could have gone to Larra and had her convince Viserys to call off the marriage, to let her be a septa, a life where she has a mother who can and does look after her, a life that isn't a prison.

something soooo funny to me about voldemort having been the top of his class in hogwarts. like he’s canonically the ridiculously smart overachiever type, even if he makes it seem effortless; i can’t stop thinking about voldemort in his full snakey form being scary and evil but then someone happens to ask a question about this or that and Oh Boy. suddenly the dark lord is quoting tomes from centuries past and referencing cutting edge academic theory across every subject you can imagine, im talking published literally last week in some obscure journal only actual academics read, and everyone just has to sit there while the supreme lord evil red eyed snake man takes a strangely enthusiastic detour into the minutiae of potential interactions between the disillusionment charm if cast at the same time the subject is under the influence of some kind of invisibility potion or something. because what does it mean to cross two aspects of illusion with each other, would these theorized effects extend each other’s capabilities or would they conflict with each other and thus weaken the other, what would happen if a third variable such as the polyjuice potion or a silencing charm is introduced, do these effects magnify, do they cancel, are these interactions entirely theoretical. he’s getting into the history of recorded interactions and the particulate interactions of potion and verbal magic and why This particular word invokes Thus thing when said in This cadence except under These circumstances... Etc. it’s all very fascinating to voldemort and if he’s been subscribed to half a dozen academic journals over the past several decades, well. it’s not his fault he was dead for like ten years. he’s just trying to keep up with the field

may i interest you in a hot widow dilf kishiar and his daughter
okay so.
i really love alpha!daemon x omega!daeron pairing with surprises at the end.
hear me out. i had this idea and i am so so tempted to write it. i had an outline and everything. some underage stuff but bare with me.
In 174 AC, King Aegon (canonically) sends a massive fleet to invade Dorne. Daeron, who is pregnant at the time, tries to stop the invasion, and pleads with his father to stop, only to get backhanded and sent to maester. By some miracle of the gods, a storm destroys the fleet but the stress and his injuries ends up causing Daeron to have a miscarriage and unable to conceive any children. Maron (my omegaverse alpha for Daeron) tries to comfort Daeron, but says the wrong thing, saying perhaps it is a trade off for the gods for protecting his nation. he doesn't mean it negatively. just that the gods taketh and they giveth away. after all, this maron's country that the king is threatening. so daeron, upset, asks if Maron would rather save his country than his child, and Maron answers honestly. this leads to a huge fight, and maron ends up pointing out that Daeron has never been extremely maternal before so its surprising the miscarriage is affecting him so.
the fight does heavily damage their relationship.
Daeron gets depressed, part because Maron is right. He is happy that Dorne is safe, and a child is a small price to pay for a nation. And it's true, he isn't the most maternal omega. he's too busy being the prince. however, losing the pregnancy hurt him more than he realized, and now the maester revealed he cannot have any more children.
after the fight with maron, he feels like has no one to turn to...except Daemon.
Daemon lost his mother in 172, two years after he was born, and Aegon doesn't recognize Daemon until he turns twelve. Naturally, Daeron becomes his parental figure. He even shares a wet nurse with Baelor (Daeron even nurses him a few times because his tits hurt too much not to, and Baelor wasn't fucking latching properly).
Because of the orphanage, Daemon adores Daeron. he's always competing with baelor and the rest of daeron's sons (and his other bastard siblings) for Daeron's affections. he wants his approval (even in texts his personality is described identically to baelor). Although a toddler, he's there for Daeron when he needs him most, and for a brief moment in time, Daemon is the only person Daeron can trust because, as heir, he has allies, not friends. The people he knows who are loyal to him are mostly Maron's friends, so confiding in them may go back to maron. he is lonely. and so is daemon.
There's a dark part of Daeron who believes that since Daemon is a bastard, he is more "grown" than other children. There's a lot of emotional incest that Daeron places on Daemon. he tells him private things a child shouldn't be told, and Daemon laps onto their intimacy like a dog. daeron tells him about his problems with his husband, and talks about how he wishes Daemon was older so he could be his alpha (Because he's so obedient and Maron isn't).
their relationship gets more inappropriate. When Brynden is born, Daeron is elated because he's born months after Daeron had just lost his son. He treats Brynden as if he really is his child. He even encourages Brynden's mother to leave him behind after she is cast back home because he'll have "more successes in life if he remains at court."
Daemon has always been easily jealous. he used to get jealous whenever Daeron showed favor to his son, Baelor, and now there was a new rival for his attention. Daeron decided to watch their training. He is holding baby Brynden in his arms. During their practice play, Daemon bested Baelor and hit him extremely hard. Baelor was bleeding hard. He almost passed out. Daeron was furious. He pulls Daemon aside to yell at him. Daemon tearfully says he wanted to show how strong he was because he was watching, and he never comes to watch him. Daeron denies it but Daemon points out he's too busy with the new baby.“ He’s not even your real son.” Daeron points out that Brynden needs him more since his mother is gone (she was sent back to the river lands when Aegon acquired his newest mistress). Daemon says his mother is gone too, and Daeron is all he has. Daeron is taken back and comforts him. He throws a fit, saying he was here first. He was fine with Daeron’s other children because they’re his, but he won’t be replaced by another bastard. His anger grows, so Daeron holds him. “Promise you’re mine. Promise you will not abandon me.” Daeron promises and kisses his tears away. They kiss (chastely) and Daemon makes an unhinged request which is to nurse from him. He says it's not fair Brynden gets his teats. He has a wet nurse. Daeron is reluctant, but gives in, undoes his top and nurses him, promising him that Daemon will always be his.
(Having dealt with Daemon’s jealousy, he checks on Baelor, who is fine. They have a heart-to-heart, where Daeron asks Baelor if he ever feels lonely from the lack of attention. Baelor says he would be fine with less attention. It is a joke, and it is not. Baelor hears the whispers—how he’s too Dornish, how he’s the next heir, etc., and he handles it all better than Daeron ever did as an omega. Daeron jokes that perhaps succession should skip to him. Baelor says that is impossible, and that he will be a great king. More than ever, Daeron wishes he were able to give Baelor a little brother as a companion.)
Years later, Daeron's mother dies. Aegon, during one of his banquet, jokes if he should have funeral or a tourney as he searches for his new bride. Daeron is in rage and in mourning. His legitimacy is questioned again. Daeron cusses him out and Aegon strikes him for the first time in years, and Daeron realizes that after all these years of debauchery and hedonism, his father is weak. The hit doesn’t hurt like it did as a child. “When you die, the streets will cheer.” Aegon moves to strike him again, but Daemon blocks and takes the hit for him. Aegon does react, regretful he hit his (unrecognized son) and sneers at Daeron for needing a child to protect him. Daeron insults him further, and decides he needs to leave for Dragonstone.
Daemon begs him to stay, reminding him of his promise. Daeron says he will return--once his dad is dead. Daemon throws a huge fit, and Daeron tells him to stop. He tells Daeron he fears he will die from his father's hand if he stays. Daemon says he will let him leave if he does one thing. “What?” “Kiss me.” Daeron gives in. He is too tired to fight and kisses his brother on the cheek. “I want a real kiss.” Daemon repeats that he was older, he’d marry him. “I love you.” For the first time, Daeron, moved by his brother's turmoil, kisses his little brother again more deeply, unprompted. “You will always be in my heart.”
Years later, he learns that Daemon won the squires tourney, and has been knighted. As a reward he was gifted Blackfyre and Aegon confirms his parentage. It is a ploy to disavow Daeron. Daeron as a “surprise,” returns to King's Landing to celebrate his brother’s nameday. Daemon is elated to see his brother again. Daeron makes sure to dress especially fine, knowing how much his brother adores him. He sees Daemon who has grown up a lot. He has had his rut and he is handsome. Daeron knew his father’s people wanted a war, a show, snide comments, and bitterness. But Daeron knew Daemon, knew the letters he wrote and the love in his heart, and instead, he gently caresses his face when they reunite. Daemon is now his height and in a few years, he will be tower over Daeron like the Wall itself. The reaction is instant. The boy folds under his touch, and he is besotted. Daeron feels his husband tense, but he pays the man no mind. “You have grown into quite a man.” His father supporters ask why he's in King's Landing having "ran away" to Dragonstone but Daeron tells them that he wanted to see his brother. “I will not allow bad blood to breed between us as it did our ancestors.”
The next day at Court, and Daemon does everything in his power to earn his favor. It is like he is a boy again, desperate for Daeron’s attention. Daeron ignores his own husband and children to give this favor. He listens to the boys’ tales of a tourney, touches his arm with affection, and laughs at his jokes. No matter how much the other nobles attempt to divert his attention or sow seeds of discord, it does not work. Eventually, Daeron says he needs to wash up for the banquet. It is a small feast—one his father ultimately put on to humiliate Daeron. Daeron asks if Daemon will give him his first dance. Daemon nearly trips over himself to say yes.
Moran gets jealous. He asks where he learn to seduce Daeron as he thought he was the only man he’s been with. Daeron thinks it’s amusing and points out that Daemon is a child. Maron counters, “He’s had a rut. He is no longer 'a child.'" The two end up making love in their room unbeknownst to the watching eyes of Daemon who was trying to visit Daeron before the party. Daemon leaves, very aroused and very jealous.
At the banquet and there are many enemies in the midst trying to humiliate him. Fortunately, Daeron prepared for this, and he enjoy seeing them falter. Then, there is Prince Baelor, who charms everyone. Daeron's pride and joy. Daemon comes out looking regal and so handsome, he makes the stars look like pebbles and diamonds dull as grass. Daeron can't even be upset because with all the pretty ladies and lords, he only has eyes for Daeron. As promised, Daeron gives the first dance, much to the annoyance of the King, who wished for strife.
At the end of the party, Daeron ends up making a speech for Daemon’s nameday. He brings up Blackfyre, much to the shock of the Court. However, instead of being upset, he says the sword belongs to a great warrior, which he is not. He is sure Daemon will serve the Crown proudly with it. He gives a touching speech to being happy that Daemon was finally recognized as his brother after so long, and it leads to Daemon giving him a heartfelt hug. Daemon swears his loyalty to Daeron. Everyone has a wonderful time...except for the king.
Daeron is summoned to the king’s chambers. Maron tells him not to go but he wants to. He knows he's won. He arrives, and asks respectful but Aegon, so heavy he cannot get up from his bed, tells him to cut the crap. Aegon mocks him at first. “You acted like a whore tonight.” He makes the same snide remarks about illegitimacy, but Daeron counters that he doesn’t even believe the rumors he started. Aegon relents that he doesn't, but tells him that it won't take long until Daeron ends up like Rhaenyra. The kingdom doesn't want an omega ruler. They want an alpha like Daemon. Daeron laughs and says they don't want another Aegon the Unworthy.
“You are upset because I added salt to your fields of discord.”
“Yes, my fields are as barren as your womb.” Daeron is upset about that comment but continues to rejoice in his victory. Daemon, Aegon's mirror image, adores him. The Court adored Baelor. Aegon cannot take that away.
The following night, he is about to leave for Dragonstone, when Daemon asks to speak to him alone. He is holding Blackfyre and offers to return it, for Baelor to have. Daeron wants to accept but he knows doing so will lose his credibility. Instead, Daeron tells him it was meant for him.
Daemon confesses his love, and says that he longs for the day he feels safe enough to return. Daemon says he wishes to marry him.
“I am married.”
“If Maron dies…”
“My husband is healthy and virile. He will not pass anytime soon.” Daeron pretends they are conversing in jest, but they are not. Clearly, Daemon is not.
“I know he is. I can tell by how he fucks you.”
Daeron realizes the boy has been spying on him. He tries to soothe him. “Daemon, my sweet brother…” Daemon once again demands he swear to marry him if his husband passes, but Daeron says that he is barren. “You are young. You deserve children.”
“We can have children.”
Daemon believes his seed will triumph over the laws of nature. He kisses Daeron and it is intense. Daeron pleads with him to stop, but it feels good. It feels good to have Daemon's favor and love and he loves the idea of being able to defile Aegon's favorite son. He also loves how handsome Daemon is, how Daemon looks at him like he is the most beautiful thing in the world.
And he says, fuck it. It's not like anything will come of it.
So Daeron lets Daemon fuck him. He lets Daemon spill his seed inside over and over again, knot him, let him thrust so deep he could feel him in his womb. It feels so good that Daeron tells his family to go back to Dragonstone ahead of him. He has business he wants to take care of. No one is any wiser as Daeron spends the next few days in King's Landing fucking Daemon nonstop. There is something freeing about being so brazen because Daeron knows no one would believe Daeron would do such a thing, and all his allies would assume any rumors were the King's manipulations. In the end, he tells Daemon they can't be together even if he wants them to; he's kind and sweet, treating them like star-crossed lovers if anything, and Daemon is so young and would do anything to make sure he remains in Daeron's good graces that he goes along with Daeron's words. He even suggests being a Kingsguard so he can protect Daeron, which Daeron is elated with, but tells him he needs to choose his own path (while secretly hoping it leads back to him). When he returns to Dragonstone, he acts like nothing happened, and as far as anyone is concerned, nothing did happen. Things are fine.
Until he misses his heat.
Months later, the maester confirms he is with child. The maester comments that it is a miracle. Daeron is in shock.
Maron is elated. "We can finally have our Maekar."
"What?" Daeron is surprised.
"That's what you wanted to name our fourth, right? Maekar?"
Ugh, I love omegaverse Targaryens for their potential. Like I wrote a while back, that omega! daeron and omega! maekar would likely be such a contentious, love-hate "mother-daughter" relationship because of how different they are and their values.
Like omega! daeron is the epitome of the ideal omega (demure, witty, soft-spoken), but is also politically ambitious. Daeron has always put being a king before his family, and this is such a good juxtaposition to makear who is NOT the ideal omega. He is a warrior who is brash, prickly, foul-mouthed, with the worst temper, but is a traditionalist in the sense that he just wants to be Baelor's mate. Like Maekar loves being constantly bred and taking care of his children.
Maekar's lack of political ambition infuriates and disappoints Daeron because of how capable Maekar is. It isn't like Rhaegal or Aerys, who both have no aptitude for court life and are lucky to live past 40. Maekar is a natural commander. Daeron has seen how he leads armies, how easily he can command a room (despite being an omega, he makes alphas quiver, and this is something Daeron cannot dream of mastering), and how, despite his foul temperament, he knows how to rationalize and negotiate (we see that such as despite his grief and definite anger towards Dunk, he still invited him to Summerhall to be Aegon's knight and offered to teach him how to fight through his Master of Arms). Maekar has all the makings of being a good ruler. Daeron had plans for Maekar: to give him (well, one of his omega children) Summerhall, and have him marry a second or third son of a good family, have him build his name, and prove that omegas could lead great houses. He knew out of all his children (besides Baelor) that Maekar could do it.
But he doesn't. Daeron's idea of heaven is a kingdom at peace; Maekar's idea of heaven is being with his family.
(And Maekar always felt like Daeron hated him for disobeying him by marrying Baelor (against his orders) and not being the child he wanted. Daeron even used the term broodmare to insult Maekar after their fourth child (when they were arguing). Meanwhile, Daeron is just trying to do what's best for Maekar and doesn't like how submissive he gets with Baelor, how he spends half his days in the Maidenvault swollen with a child instead of living with the freedoms Daeron didn't. Daeron would have happily allowed Maekar to travel, whore around, marry for love.)
They accidentally aggravate each other due to this miscommunication.
For example, Maekar refuses to use a wet nurse because Daeron hired one, and he thinks it's Daeron's way of saying that he's "too young and needs help and can't feed his children," whereas Daeron hired a wet nurse because it's the norm for highborns, but also because Maekar needs a break from being with the child all the time.
Or the one time Maekar decides to engage in the Small Council, it's in response to a lord being a potential Blackfyre supporter, so Maekar decides to go to the keep to “take care of business” instead of King Daeron and points out how dangerous it would be because Daeron is not a warrior and can’t defend himself. Daeron thinks his son is insulting him, but no, really, you don't send the fucking king to a potential traitor's castle.
And if they stopped to think and talk, they would realize how foolish they're being, but they're too in their own heads to realize it.
continuing to think about them all growing up together... busy court full of children

Rhaenyra: *trying to explain why she married her own uncle* It was necessary for us. That way, we'll all be safer, stronger, our wounds will heal faster, and we'll be happier. Understood?
Jace, puzzled: Yes
Luke, thoughtful: Yes
*the next day*
Viserys, holding Luke on his lap: So, one more time, just to make sure I didn't misheard. You want me to marry you and Aemond? My son? Your uncle? The one you had a fight with, where my daughter's honor was hurt, and consequently yours, where you crippled him for life in an attempt to protect your brother? Did I say that correctly?
Luke, eating a cupcake: Yes, that's right.
Viserys: Why?!?
Luke: When my uncle and I marry, we'll be much stronger and happier, and all our wounds will heal! Understood?
Viserys: …Of course. But who am I to refuse my beloved grandson?!? Your parents don't know, do they?
Luke: Nope. I thought you'd organize the wedding faster, being the king.
Viserys proudly: You thought right!
Viserys: BRING AEMOND HERE!!
Eternal Friendship
