Hope Is All You Need

There is a saying that goes like this, “Don’t light yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.” This was said by Penny Reid in one of her novels. The common consensus  means as follows: don’t put yourself in a dangerous position for someone else if it means your well being will be compromised.

Self-care is an essential aspect of our lives. Putting this into practice will produce an abundance of relief emotionally, physically, and mentally on your part. There isn’t anything wrong with being there for those that you care about, but I can’t urge this enough.

A lot of us tend to ignore our gut feelings for various reasons. Some of which being for people who aren’t good for you, staying in a job that isn’t working out, or basically anything. 

It’s easy to just ignore it and act like it’s not there. It often is that we realize this later rather than we should, and this happens on a repeated basis until we’re able to choose to listen to our gut. 

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t force yourself to act like nothing is wrong. Listen to what your gut is trying to tell you in the best way it can. It really can help prevent any potential misfortunes for the most part. 

This might be one of the hardest cases I’ve ever had to solve. 

Please do not be like the mod. 

Grades are definitely important. Education in general is imperative to being able to function in society, and sometimes... This ideal can be incredibly taxing on students regardless of their school level. 

I think it’s important to keep in mind that putting education before mental and physical health is not a healthy habit to have. Your health is important, after all. Without a good state of health, part taking in school or college is nearly impossible. 

Do not compromise your health. No matter what.

Mod: Of course, I assume that’ll be pretty easy.

Mod: But it’s not... Not at all.

It’s not easy to get out of friendships or relationships that involve a person who treats you any less than what you deserve. Anyone who treats you poorly and to a point of it being abusive doesn’t have a right to remain in your life. 

Consulting someone you trust and close to about the person involved with you is essential. I can understand that it’s sometimes difficult though, as it’s hard to see when you’re being mistreated.

I’m aware I’m not one to talk as I don’t sleep very much on many nights myself, this is something even I’m learning. 

My point is, it’s alright if you struggle with sleeping at proper times... Trying to rework your sleep cycle is a significant step and it very much counts. Of course, there very well may be circumstances such as insomnia, anxiety, certain habits among other factors that might make sleeping more difficult for some. But even then, I still see the effort as means of progress. It may take some time to adjust but it will be worth it. 

I’m proud of you nonetheless.

Kyoko: Although sometimes, words that we read or hear from others can be hurtful. It’s especially the case if you’re close with that person. Regardless of who it is, their insults do not define who you are and tend to have as much validity as well as you give them. As someone who does sometimes dwell on the words of others a little too much, I can understand this is hard to keep in mind. The defaming words most of the time do come out of anger and thus, people don’t normally mean what they say.
