I am currently finishing up some training in work, and the topic is on helping international students to avoid culture shock. They have just presented me with this graphic:

They've captioned it with "This is a bit of fun but it highlights the underlying point" but I am now completely stuck on "I'm sure it's my fault" - "It's your fault" - "Why do they think it was their fault?" as an interaction

I decided to only look at the left hand column and write how I would interpret them if my boss/ professional colleague said them to me-

and it seems to pretty much match up! Neat.

#as a really direct and honest person this is hell for me #and the funniest thing is that I perfectly understand the implications and I pick up on social clues even as a foreigner #but it took me so much time and actual therapy practice to start softening the blow and not just say what I mean to the other person #my therapist told me I can't talk shit in person that's what smoke breaks are for #but I don't smoke #and the fact that almost all my friends are autistic doesn't help at all they'd hate that shit too #one time I got pared with a guy from a film class for a final project in uni #he said he's gonna make a presentation for our project and his power point skills were so bad we had a whole ass fight about it for days #because I couldn't shut up and watch how he butchered our visuals my art designer heart was bleeding #it was so bad I had no idea how to communicate the fact that I'd rather die than show this presentation to anyone #it's all good now we got an A bit lemme tell you it was NOT because of the presentation #I'm sure he still holds a grudge against me

Randomly unlocked an embarrassing memory this morning: more than 10 years ago I had a favorite ninja turtles artist who drew their own ocs and I was so incredibly obsessed with them, but I didn't know how to write nice comments on deviantart so the only one I ever left was one where I complimented... a piece of paper with a floor plan that one of the characters was holding in the drawing... I said it made me happy because I wanted to be an interior designer
