Letters I'll Never Send but need to write

1) I had a great conversation about the joy of seeing beautiful things in our everyday lives with my daughter and a stranger and her daughter. Quick connections are a joy. 2) I had made some great avocado salsa verde. Pleased with me! 3) Excitement for Nothin' But is growing daily. Realizing that all of the heartache, pain, and suffering may have been worth it. Biggest gamble in my life. Great business partner who is traveling the road with me. 4) Cate is downstairs and is happy as can be. It's Friday, she's drawing, and Dr. Who is the music in her ears. 5) I have my basic needs met. It may not mean a lot to some people, but I fully appreciate and value all that I have. It's a good feeling to have.

I'm on a flight from NY to LA. In front of me is a family with a toddler that babbles, screams and talks nonsense. The screams of happiness/joy/childhood are not on the top ten list of any traveler. The tired, sitting in coach me remembers that it wasn't long ago when I was in the same "airplane" as the mother with the screaming child. Fortunately, I had five guardian angels that were looking out for me. A bit of backstory. I lived in Taiwan from 1999 to 2006. I was married there and gave birth to my daughter there. In 2003, I made the 16-hour flight back to Ohio to see my family after a few years away. In the time since I left, I had married and become a mother. Unfortunately, my father had also begun the spiral into dementia. It was a slow slip that all of us saw coming, but because I had moved away I wasn't close to what the dementia was doing to my father. It was going to be the first time I was witnessing it for myself and the first time my family was meeting my two-year-old daughter Cate. At the airport, I pushed her stroller with determination and uncertainty.

1) Don't wear underwear that take effort and time to put on. If a mad dash after too much iced tea could end badly, don't wear them. 2) Eat a massive salad with lots of green stuff and crunchy bits. It'll pay off forevahhhhhh! 3) Stay away from soul suckers for the first hour of your day. They are like spiritual constipation. They'll ruin your flow. 4) Wear somewhat comfortable shoes. Life can be long and I want my feet to last and not end up jacked up because of bad shoe choices. 5) Hug or give affection to someone or something within the first 20 minutes of your day. You can count yourself if you feel so inclined (insert your own thought here).
