Cade was exhausted. Why the fuck was he walking all the way to Kip’s house at 3am? It was much too late, or early, he supposed, for this. Thankfully he’d figured out the shortest way to get there on google maps and, by cutting through the park, he’d made it to the other male’s house in about a half hour.
The blond was dressed in plaid flannel pajama pants, mostly because they were comfortable and the first thing he saw in his drawers while getting dressed in the dark, a t-shirt, his new Secret Santa evil Christmas Sweater, and a thick hoodie overtop. His phone was tucked into one of the hoodie pockets and he repeatedly checked it for the time, wondering how much longer he had to walk until he reached the building.
He sighed as he approached Kip’s door and double checked the number with the one on Kip’s phone, before knocking four times and shifting his weight awkwardly between his feet. “Cm’on, Kip.” He muttered.
His television, muted, in a random channel, was the only light in the bedroom besides the red tip of a cigarette. Kip was sitting in the end of the bed, not really smoking, just rolling the ciggy between his fingers. He glanced at the stick of cancer, like his stepfather liked to say, and at his reflection in the window. He smiled humorlessly at himself and bit his bottom lip.I’m a stubborn little shit. Smoking, like many things, proved to be pointless. But he didn’t stop smoking. Thinking about Cade Hanson at 3 am was pointless, also. But he didn’t stop doing it. And inviting him to his house to watch Frozen, damn, this was pointless as hell. Yet, that was exactly what he did. And crazily enough, Cade said yes.
The silence went on for half an hour until finally there was a knock at the front door. Putting out the cigarette in the ashtray, Kip stood up immediately but didn’t exactly run to it. He hastily opened the door right after the fourth knock, wearing just a tank top and pajama pants and putting on a smirk on his face before saying “Here you are.”
