Picking a cage

Generally speaking, “small” cages fit penises smaller than 5.5 inches, with “large” cages fitting penises larger than that. Each cage should have its own specific inner dimensions which will help you pick which will fit your cock best. Ideally, you’re looking for a cage that only provides strain when you get an erection - this means a cage that is slightly larger than your flaccid size. This not only makes it easier to put on, but won’t provide you any major discomfort.

A great “starter” cage would be our CB6000 cage. CB cages are arguably the best known type and are great for anyone, regardless of whether or not they’re new to chastity. The CB6000 is great because it comes with additional ring sizes and locking pin sizes, meaning you have a customisable “one-size-fits-all” cage. If you’re unsure what size to get and don’t want to risk it, go with a large cage first and then decide if a small one would suit you better.

Plastic or Metal?

There are a lot of different cages, and this is mostly up to preference. Plastic cages (generally speaking) do not allow any outside stimulation for your penis - making a more frustrating (in a good way!) experience. Metal cages can be more discreet and both provide different sensations. Personally, I’m not a big fan of metal cages so I’ll be sticking to my plastic ones.

You’ve gotten a cage, now what?

Putting on your cage for the first time can be very daunting and difficult. There are a lot of different parts and each cage is different. For this, I will illustrate the process for a CB3000 or CB6000 chastity cage.

The first thing to put on is the testicle ring - this is what will stop your cage from falling off. These come in various sizes so try with the largest size you have and work your way down if the cage feels too loose. Maneuver your testicles and shaft through the ring like a cock ring.

Next, you need to put in your “connecting bit” - I couldn’t think of a good name for this but it’s what connects the top of the testicle ring to make a full circle. There will be two bits - note where the dips are on the plastic as that’s the side you need to put against the ring. Your first connecting bit should have two “prongs” or pins which should go towards your penis. After this, slot in your second connecting bit.

Now it’s ready to pick a pin! With the CB6000, there are four different locking pins with different sizes & spacers. The idea behind these are to a) lock your cage to your ring and b) provide ample space to keep your balls from losing circulation. Again I can only advise to use the largest available and work your way down until you find the perfect size. The spacer goes on after you’ve inserted both connecting bits.

Finally, the cage itself! This is a huge hassle, the first few times you’ll do it you’ll end up with an erection literally cock-blocking you. The idea is to effectively get the cage on as swiftly as possible before it gets impossible. You may find that you need lube to do this.

Now you have your cage on, the last thing to do is lock it! The CB6000 comes with these plastic ziptie-esque dogtag things which work as a makeshift, one time padlock. I find that these are great when I want to do some very long chastity sessions, especially in public so that there are no parts clanging together. The other option is the padlock that comes with the cage. This has two keys (on the same keychain!) so you can hand over full control to your keyholder. When you are getting started, regardless of whether or not you have a keyholder, I strongly recommend using the padlock! You’ll be changing the spacers, rings and pins until you find the most comfortable setup so you’ll go through these plastic zipties super fast otherwise. Once you have something comfortable set up it’s up to you to decide whether or not you want to use a padlock or not.

Pro tips!

For uncircumsised people, you may have a lot of trouble with your foreskin “bunching up” when entering the cage. I’ve found a few ways to combat this:

- use something like a condom or old sock on your penis to stop the foreskin moving as you put the cage on, and then pull it out through the pee-hole at the end

- wrap some toilet paper or something along the head of your penis and slide it in, similarly pull it out afterwards

- get it in normally, but use something small like a q-tip to push bits of foreskin around in your cage (you wont be able to get a finger in!)

If you’re wearing your cage in public and don’t want people to hear that super humiliating sound of a padlock hitting a cage, simply use rubber bands, zipties or hair bands to “tie” the padlock to your cage. You won’t feel any tightening or anything, but you wont hear that sound anymore!

Cages have ventilation holes that allow you to wash your penis without taking the cage off, but I strongly recommend taking it off once in a while to get a good scrub. It will start to stink!
