Lotta weird shit been goin' on in and around several of the fandoms I am (un)fortunately a participant in/contributor to, but at this point, you weird bitches gotta chill tf out. ๐ซฉ
It would seem that apparently, a host of abnormal ass Gachiakuta fandom members have successfully strong-armed Kei Urana (the mangaka, for the uninformed) off of Twitter.
Folks was pushin' the usual "she's racist!" rhetoric, in addition to other equally absurd, unfounded claims, like always. ๐
I thought the shit was whack back not too long ago when y'all were LITERALLY trying to force this woman to make Tamsy trans (even when Urana clearly stated he wasn't), and I even saw a concerning number of people trying to BULLY URANA INTO MAKING HERSELF NON-BINARY???ยฟยฟยฟ

Outside of my writings for Tamsy, I haven't been particularly interactive with the Gachiakuta fandom, and after seeing that initial insanity, I'm glad I took a step back when I did. ๐ตโ๐ซ
Like, how y'all gone try to tell that lady about herself?? I swear, a lot a' you hoes don't ever have anything but the au-damn-dacity.
And it's especially triflin' as it relates to her characters, WHICH SHE CREATED. As a writer, with experience writing both for established characters and my own original ones, I understand the level of consideration and research and dedication and love that can/should go into good character development (both initially and progressively).
When we as creators present our labors of love to y'all the consumers, we're doing so out of a desire to share our enthusiasm and excitement for what we've created. I know I (and many others) in particular do so because we just love to interact with people and bounce around ideas- sometimes, y'all even present unique perspectives and concepts, things that we might not have even considered for our characters. (Uuummm, hello, that's quite literally how fandom is created/maintained- the concept of headcanons ringin' any bells??)
And I think that's very cool.
So, no, it's not inherently a problem to have your silly lil' thoughts about what a character's favorite book is or their preferred method of organizing their bedroom or even prescribing an ailment to them, like cholinergic urticaria, for example. Unless those kinds of traits have been explicitly stated, I personally am a proponent for the creation of headcanons by fans.
But it is INCREDIBLY disrespectful to abuse that privilege and bully/harass/nag/etc. a creator about THEIR OWN CHARACTER, for ANY reason (barring there being a serious issue- i.e racism, ableism, etc, and even then, you're still not meant to resort to harassment and cruelty) but especially because you are an immature, spoiled child who doesn't understand what no means, hasn't taken it upon themself to learn how to correctly and healthily engage with media, and also doesn't understand that, hey, just because you like a character and have either consciously or subconsciously decided to project all your traumas and issues and problems onto them, doesn't mean that they should have to represent or align with all your personal ideologies, or identity or any a' dat shit. Not everything has to cater specifically to you, dummy.
Same applies to the creator.
And another thing: it's also not, I repeat, NOT bigoted or phobic or whatever the fuck for a creator to say that their character either is or isn't trans, non-binary or otherwise part of that rainbow. You people need to get over yourselves.
Ultimately, you toxic fandom girlies have waaayyyy overstepped your boundaries. Again, have your headcanons, sure, but know where to separate your personal beliefs from what is established. And, if you have to, learn to be alright with the idea that a creator may not support or agree with your headcanon, that they are well within their rights to do so and that that is A-FUCKIN'-OK. ๐๐พ
Now, I don't believe in being unequally yoked, and I don't necessarily agree that art can be fully separated from the artist, but that's because I was raised right and I do strongly believe that everyone should 1.) have standards/lines they don't cross, 2.) consume media maturely and responsibly and 3.) absolutely take accountability for their actions.
And PLEASE CAN WE BRING BACK SHAME?? GOOD LORD. ๐ซ
People, for a long time, have been way too comfortable on these interwebs A.) tellin' all they business, B.) bein' up in otha folk's in turn, C.) tryna tell others about theyself and D.) bein' upset when that same energy is reciprocated.
Which is ridiculous but...chiiiiiilllllleee ๐....
Anyway, said all that to say, anybody that was on any a' da aforementioned weird shit oughta be ashamed, and don't follow/interact with me or any of my upcoming Tamsy related content if you agree with any of the prior statements made about either the character or the artist- instead, go take some time out to reevaluate your decisions and pledge to become a better person and productive member of society.
