Unpopular opinion but I’d be happy if they brought back Roxy but not Merlin if I had to choose between the two

harry hart and richmond valentine had tension in kingsman 1. yes that kind of tension

I think people make lepidopterist harry more oblivious than he actually is

ive noticed in fic that people tend to write harry as the confident outgoing type versus merlin who is the shy nerd but imo its kind of the opposite? merlin, although not necessarily outgoing, seems very assuredly confident in the no nonsense military type kind of way whereas harry gives me the impression that he was more awkward as a young man and his unruffled charm took a lot more time to cultivate. idk maybe i just read harry as autistic and im projecting

i actually loved harry coming back but i hated the alpha gel gimmick, that shot was entirely survivable realistically and they could have kept pretty much the same plot (following fictional amnesia rules) without the borderline magic nonsense. also in general tgc had a lot of good ideas it really just needed a bit more development and if they ever get round to making a 3rd one (increasingly unlikely..) they could definitely elaborate on the aspects that were brushed over, it’s not unsalvageable

sometimes it feels like the fandom treats eggsy a lot stupider than he actually is, and it’s almost like we forgot he spent an entire movie outsmarting everyone around him with his incredible wits.

i think harry hart shouldve stayed dead. bringing him back in tgc really diminished the emotional impact of his death in the first place and set a bad precedent for death expectation on everyone else… if it was between harry coming back and roxy+merlin surviving, i wouldve chosen to keep roxy and merlin alive. sometimes we have to focus on the now and the people we love presently. we cant always beg for the past nostalgia to come back and help us
