The sky cleared and, in responce, I got out of bed. Thunderstorms always remind me of how my mother taught me that lightening ionizes the air, and thus, brings all life new energy. I lied in bed this morning in mystic wonderment of rebirth. With this sentiment in mind, I decided to head to the Nagasaki Peace Park. I witnessed the very spot in which the abomb unleashed heartaching devastation, caused 140,000 deaths instantaneously, and left another 140,000 injured or homeless. I stood in complete sadness and regret for the tragedy my country caused. I am ashamed, but a walk through this park sends a loud message that despite ultimate loss, what is crucial in the present is to build the foundations of peace on the faults in human history. Intercultural understanding and respect for all human life is essential to our growth as a species. We must uplift each other with love, peace, joy, and harmony. Here is The Peace Statue which points to the sky in threat of another nuclear bomb, and his other motions for peace. The existence of nuclear bombs today still pose a global threat whether this be through international conflict or human error. On how to support anti-proliferation in the states, please check out @globalzero I am humbled. May peace prevail. (at Nagasaki Peace Park)
