U know the pre-uprising where Newt doesn’t really understand why everyone looks at him so strangely and Hermann is insulted and gone away and everything around is so weird. Precursers are isolating him for their own plans but Newt doesn’t get it and he is so, SO lonely, and coz of this shit he doesn’t mind to drift with Alice. Drifting is the only way to feel something at all. The only way to his personal hell.
