"You .. are an ass, though I love you still," She remarked plainly before leaning to kiss his cheek. The cat mewed and rubbed against his hand as cats are wont to do, before batting once at it and running off.. tripping over itself in the process. Meli giggled some, her chin on Darren’s shoulder.

"Well, if anything, it can be an outside cat. The back porch is large enough where we can put a dog house out there for it, and a litterbox." She set the kitten down to let it roam around.

"Nah, little man can stay here in the house. I'll be fine. You keep the house clean enough it shouldn't bother me any."

"It isn’t a ‘thing’, Darren, and what is the matter with you? You’re not usually this vehement about something. What else is wrong?” When you lived with a man, you knew their mannerisms; learned when they were agitated or just being pricks. And Darren wasn’t telling her the entire story.

He tilted his head as he looked at her and sighed. "I'm uh...slightly allergic to cats. The cat dander or whatever makes me sneeze. It's fine, I'll just stock up on allergy meds and buy one of those air filters."Giving her a soft smile he looked at her. "What are you gonna name him baby?"

"So cuute~. What shall we name him, dear?" Meli smiled easily to the man, knowing she’d won this round. … This time. Though she expected a puppy in the next few days as a rebuttal.

"We're getting it fixed. And de clawed. We are not having that thing destroying our new furniture."

"Oh it isn’t that bad. Besides, I bought a pet hair remover thing just for that. Drama king~," she teased.

"Meli." He sighed and rolled his eyes. "Fine, it can stay. But just the one. I am not a fan of cats. I prefer dogs."

"I think the appropriate question is .. why not. Look at him, he’s so adorable!”

"Oh come on. He's gonna get cat hair all over our new satin sheets Meli! Why in our bed?"
