"Y-Your highness, the guard dog outside seems to have... taken a liking to me, and..." Feliciano wheezed nervously. "My clothes are torn, and I can't get them fixed."
Ludwig furrowed his brows, in both confusion and a bit of concern. He stepped up to the younger man and looked over his tattered attire. That was odd, usually Aster wouldn’t actually bite or tear into someone without a proper command, neither would Berlitz. Was it another dog?
"Are you injured anywhere? Is it just your clothes or did you get bitten too?" He asked, figuring it’d be a good idea it understand the full situation before doing anything.
"And look where that got you!!" He barked, though he pulled himself back as he noticed how Feliciano was cowering from him. He took a deep breath through his nose to try to calm himself down before speaking again. "Look, you don’t have to put yourself through foolish decidions like selling your clothes to get bratwurst for me. I know you value our friendship dearly and I appreciate it, but you really need to stop putting yourself into unfavorable situations. If not for your sake, but think of mine. Do you really think I would have preferred a meal of sausage compared to you having fresh warm clothing? Especially in the winter, that is important."
"I didn’t sell them for money to get bratwurst. I sold them because I could never wear them. They sat in my closet for so long, and the only thing I’ve been able to wear is my uniform. Once I had the money, I wanted to do something nice for you…" Feliciano took a few steps back, unsure if he wanted to run or not.
"You forget days off, and yes times like this to go into town to get something. And you should have variations of that uniform, not all servants and officals not wear one outfit everyday. There are variations of the unfirom but not one true uniform. If someone told you otherwise, they are wrong." Ludwig explained. He had his own thoughts that perhaps a joker talked him into this sort of mindset. Especially with being a Jack, he would have access to so many things, but he wouldn't be chained to just one solid uniform. That'd be preposterous.

"What?!"
His next sigh was a lot louder as his unfolded his arms, setting them on his hips with a shameful shake of the head was now directed to the Italian. Mauled by a dog over sausage, clothesless and moneyless. He was about ready to ban him from going out into the town anymore, he was so clumsy and foolish he just couldn’t get anything right! Though he knew damn well even if he did, Feliciano would still sneak away.
"… What am I going to do with you." He grumbled, mostly to himself.
"I-I just wanted to make you something special, to show how much you mean to me and how much I value our friendship, your Highness." He whimpered and coward from him, fearing for the worst.
"And look where that got you!!" He barked, though he pulled himself back as he noticed how Feliciano was cowering from him. He took a deep breath through his nose to try to calm himself down before speaking again. All clothes… but that and his night clothes!? And last he knew he slept in the nude so that was nothing!!
"You.. sold your other clothes?" Ludwig blinked increduously. He was a dedicated member of the court that’s for sure, but he didn’t exactly expect that. He softly hummed, crossing his arms in a bit of thought. Part of him wanted to just give him new clothes, but this was Felicianos own doing, he needed to solve his own problems. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to help.
"How much did you get for them? You could pay the seamstress to make you spare uniforms if you refuse to wear anything else."
"A-About that…" Feliciano fidgeted nervously, moving from one foot to the other, looking away. "Well, it took half of my money to buy the sausages. My clothes weren’t worth much, since they were old and used, and they didn’t know any one about my size. And the rest of it…"
He took a deep breath, hiding his face in his hands. “I got pickpocket.”
"What?!"

He tilted his head to the side, thinking about his story for e moment before he sighed. Blackie. He was still so young, he doesn’t know when to keep on guard or when to attack the court to get some sausages. He’d have to pay him a visit later.
"Mm, I know which one it is. He’s very young and powerful, I’m not surprised he was able to do this just for some bratwurst. Though since you came from the market he probably smelled other things on you." He sighed, shaking his head slowly at the dog’s misbehavior even though he wasn’t actually there to see it.
"I am glad it was only your clothes and some sausage that got taken instead of your arm. We can see if the seamstress can fix this up." Though he had a lot of clothes anyway, the Italian was always update date with the fashions of the kingdom and had a lot. It would probably be all right in the end.
"G-Good… Thank you, your Highness. This is my last outfit, I sold the rest of it except my night clothes because, well, as a Jack, I’m only required to wear this uniform. And as much as I love fashion, I love my job." He smiled faintly. "Though, now I have a problem with what to wear while the seamstress patches my clothes up."

Good afternoon, your highness.
Ah, good afternoon. It’s been a while since I’ve seen you around here. How have you been?
(Then again we barely see anyone around here lately, can’t exactly blame them though.)
*She curtsies low, trying to ignore how pallid the young King looks. She had heard rumors of his illness, but those were ages old*
Busy, extremely busy. The Lord Jack and I have been working without rest for some time. *pulls her cloak tighter around her, trying to ignore how cutting the drafts felt. Stupid drafty windows, why can’t the Hearts kingdom have as many hearths as the Club’s castle? Maybe that’s why he’s so pale, they can’t heat their home worth anything-*
I came to return your cloak, specifically. You left it on our grounds when you visited this fall. As warm as it was, and as appreciated the gesture, I think you need it more than I do.
Ah, I wondered where it had went. Thank you very much. It’ll definitely come in handy this time of year. *goes over and takes the large heavy fur trimmed fabric from her arms, instinctually putting it around his shoulders since there was not anything there yet.*
By the way, I apologize for not attending the ball the other month. I did get your invitation and was planning to go, but I fell a little under the weather the day before and… well, the rest of the week was sort of a blur. My sincerest apologies.
*Someone remembered her ball! Happiness sprang to life in those violet eyes, bouncing a bit on her toes as he spoke*
No, no no. Do not apologize. I’ve been told you were gravely ill, near-death even. I would have visited sooner, but I thought it tactful not to until news came that your health was improving! I would rather you be in good condition, and enjoy yourself properly, then having to strain yourself to come.
Did you get the cake I sent?
Cake? There was a cake?
*he furrowed his brows as he glanced to the side, trying hard to try to recollect his scattered thoughts of a cake that would be sent out from another kingdom. Perhaps he was still sick when it arrived? If that was the case, he had a pretty good idea what would have happened to it.*
I think my Jack might have taken a few liberties while I was on bedrest and dealt with it.
…Oh. Did he.
*Why do all her baked goods end up where they don’t belong. How does this even keep happening. Does she simply have a string of bad luck? Is that’s what’s going on?*
…What a terrible shame. I worked very hard on that.
I’m very sorry. If he was still around I would have given him quite a talking to.
(Then again when didn’t he deserve a lecture about doing something he wasn’t supposed to do.)
…There is an easy solution to this issue, your Highness. I could simply make use of your kitchens, and bake a fresh set here. When all is said and done, you can sample it fresh from the ovens, as it was meant to be eaten.
*Cheery again, she offered him a warm smile, trying to ignore the chill crawling up her back. There was an ulterior motive to this course of action, of course. The kitchens, deep in the bowels of the castle, would be the warmest part of the entire structure, and being near multiple ovens and cooking fires would do well to throw the chill off once and for all*
The Jack’s appetites be shot, he won’t have the first crumb this time! If you would like to, of course.
*A warm place to be and nice hot sugary food sounded much too tempting to exactly pass up. Though he didn't think to correct her on the fact that he wouldn't think anyone would try to steal it any more.*
Sure, it's been a while since I had an opprotunity to bake with someone. This way. *He begins to lead her off into the section of the castle of the kitchen, a few servants warily eyeing them but since it has been shown the king has done a bit better this last week or so, it would probably be okay. Besides, he'd need to social time.*
Good afternoon, your highness.
