PROFESSORSOAKâS PERIOD FACECLAIMS SERIES: BLACK WOMEN
Itâs been two years since Iâve done any kind of formal faceclaim help unwarranted, but here I am back at it again. Today weâre going to talk about something that really needs to be addressed: Period faceclaims. The roleplay community loves period roleplays where they can play Adelaide Kane six million times and have a forbidden romance with someone beneath her station, but by and large the problem with period roleplays is that they are a total whitewash. At the moment, the ratio is about 15:1 for literally any person of color to white characters and thatâs HIGH for the community at large.
The group most underrepresented is black characters. This shouldnât be surprising given the RPCâs track record but itâs still sad. So welcome to my new series, PERIOD FACECLAIMS THAT ARENâT WHITE.
UPDATE 6/7/20: I have added a new formatting to his post, now including the names of all projects that faceclaims have been in so people have even less excuse for ignoring them, as well as the time period they took place in. If a faceclaim has gifs at all then their name is bolded. If they have gifs for any of the projects, the project name is also bolded.
