So you know about that POC percentage survey I conducted a while ago? I forgot I never released the results lol, so here they are!

Good to see that I'm not the only POC in the community! Still a minority, but important nonetheless

Yeah the amount of participants isn't high enough for it to the definitive percentage of POC. It only got 163 (usable) participants, so it's safe to say a huge chunk didn't even see it. I don't have a very large footprint in the community, so it only gets as far as it's shared, but I plan to do it again at some point this year.

Still though it is a look into the amount of POC. My guess is that the percentage will be somewhat similar with more participants. Maybe 30% max, 35% with a generous guess

What is the best way to contact you? (I thought of replying to the confirmation but I wasn’t sure whether its return address was actually checked.)

Are the things listed as "Netflix Party" going to be just screen shares from Discord, or do they require the actual Netflix Party extension + a Netflix account?

Netflix party needs the actual extension + a netflix account. In my experience, screensharing movies through Discord has resulted in audio and quality issues. If I can manage to Discord screenshare to run smoothly with movies than I can probably do both, but I can't guarentee it at the moment

If you have registered as an artist or panelist for Othercon and haven't gotten a server invite yet, let me know! It means I wasn't able to reach you when I was sending them out

i just realised a panel i wanted to attend is 18+ and i didn't share ID, is it too late to change that? i got an email saying my application has been processed so idk

You can just send proof of age to the admin email ([email protected]), or edit your form entry and send an email saying you updated it

Othercon starts this Friday, I hope y'all are excited! Attendance for this year has far exceeded my expectations, we're currently at around 300 attendees!

Due to the sheer volume, invite emails will start going out on Thursday so everyone gets their codes before the events start on Friday.

Remember that attendee registration closes on the 12th!

Curious, will there be a “con suite”? Like a general lounge open to all, all the time (or most of the time)? And/or any kintype-themed channels, not for specific presentations but on a similar “just drop by and hang out” kind of line?

Yeah, there are channels for that which will be open the whole weekend. Currently there two for general topics and two for general kin talk
