On my after-kiddo-bedtime walk with the puppy tonight, I loved seeing older neighborhood kids scurrying through the dark toward the pool to catch the last few minutes of swim time before it closed. I also relished chatting with other neighbors I encountered out on their late evening walks. Sometimes the simplest of moments are the most meaningful. This time of summer is so special. I think we all (especially those of us living in cooler climates) appreciate it much more as we realize how soon it will come to an end and that Fall (followed by the oh-so dreaded Winter) will be upon us before we know it. Now is the time to soak up every moment and I shall do my best to do just that.

We’re now making the girls pay for their own iPad apps. So this morning Zoe learned how to stack her quarters into $1 piles to count out her payment for her latest app purchase :-)
