"Look, Goetia isn't as scary as they say on TV. You find some kind of metaphysical connection to unfathomable potential and mystery - the sky, the bowels of the earth, the ocean - and use that as a kind of bridge to send your mind to Pandæmonium. From there, you gather all the demonic soulstuff your little spirit can carry and drag it back into meatspace, name it, shape it, bind it. The Greater Chaos gets to experience our world and the novelty of linear time, and you get a servant for as long as you can sustain its form. When your Aether runs out or you dismiss it, your servitor disappears back to Pandæmonium, taking its experience back to the main body, which amuses it to no end.
I mean, sure. Your look might change a little, and if you don't have a knack for it the Greater Chaos will skip the middleman and snatch all your tasty little memories for itself, but... is that really worse than the fuckin' job hunt?"
