I tried swapping their outfits.

Saito and Akai somehow feel like a compilation of everything that made a character "cool" in the 90s. He's just so cool, it's unfair.

That means I ended up visiting Nagano three times in a single year! lol

Since new "Chijimase" (miniature) figures—including Taka'aki Morofushi —were released in August, I was able to take the Morofushi brothers along on my trip to Nagano.

The second phase of the JR Nagano stamp rally—a mystery-solving challenge—was already underway.

I hadn't managed to catch the Ai Haibara stamp on my last visit, so I was glad I could get it this time. I wanted the Kazami stamp too, but I couldn't get it due to the timing of my hotel check-in and train schedule. That was a shame.

Due to my schedule, I had to walk along a road near the forest early in the morning; I was a bit scared because there had been many reports of bears appearing in the area that time.

However, I was happy to ride the "Oykot" sightseeing train; the carriage was really cute.

Apparently, "Oykot" is "Tokyo" spelled backwards.

And I also visited the *Detective Conan* exhibition at the Nagano Prefectural Police Headquarters—something I couldn't see on my previous trip because it was a holiday.

It was wonderful and clearly made with a lot of love. Figures and handmade origami were displayed all over the place, and I could really feel the enthusiasm of the staff.

They were distributing paper craft police cars as commemorative souvenirs, but it seems they had run out quite a while ago; I really wanted one.

I toured Hakuba and Kamikochi with everyone.

Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden is full of beautiful flowers.

The official flower of Nagano Prefecture is the gentian (*rindō*), though the one I saw might have been an Ezo gentian... (It's hard for me to tell the difference...)

Hakuba's Happo Pond is absolutely stunning when the weather is clear.

Sasa-zushi (bamboo leaf-wrapped sushi), Sanzoku-yaki (fried chicken), Shinano Sweet apples, milk bread... there are so many delicious things to eat, but as an otaku, I can't help but react whenever I hear the name "Matsuda Milk."

Since the Winter Olympics were held in Nagano Prefecture in 1998, reminders of that time remain in various places.

I didn't visit the actual Olympic venues myself, but I had a "Snowlets" (the 1998 mascot trio) handkerchief given to me by a friend, so I made sure to visit the sites associated with them.

At the ski jump venue, there was a podium, and it was interesting to see the record-breaking distances displayed from the ski lift.

If Kogoro-san were there, he’d probably faint from the sheer height of it.

The hotel where I stayed had ski jumping skis and an autographed picture of an athlete on display.

In 2025, many *Detective Conan* events were held in Tokyo and Nagano in connection with "The One-Eyed Flashback".

Since Rei Furuya and Takaaki Morofushi are my favorite characters, I decided I simply had to go.

I thoroughly enjoyed the special exhibitions, exclusive video screenings, and restaurants at Tokyo Skytree; it was well worth the visit.

The special screenings held at movie theaters in Ikebukuro and Numazu were also fantastic and truly impressive.

JR East held two types of stamp rallies: one for conventional lines and a digital one that included Shinkansen lines in the Nagano area.

I love stamp rallies! lol

Furuya-kun was in charge of Koshigaya Laketown Station and Shinano-Omachi Station.

I stopped by Lake Suwa along the way, though unfortunately, the weather was rainy.

Still, the boiled egg, apple soft-serve ice cream, and miso-shop *tonjiru* were delicious.

While on the train, there was an announcement stating we were passing the highest point on the JR railway network, but I couldn't really tell where it was. lol

I was excited to see posters and billboards all over Nagano Prefecture.

By the way, my schedule was absolutely packed, as I also managed to catch a baseball game, watch a sumo stable's training camp, and visit a castle during the trip. lol

This goes back a bit further, but these photos are from a trip I took to visit famous spots in Nagano featured in the *Detective Conan* manga—a trip inspired by the news that the Nagano trio would be appearing in a movie in 2024.
