"why is kidomaru obsessed with seimei" he's not, really, its seimei who is fixated on kido (thou the writers are terrible at portraying this). sure, kido might have had some mixed feelings towards seimei back when they were both students, but since then seimei is very much "high school classmate" & nothing more in kido's viewpoint (whereas kido is very much "guy who traumatized me & forever altered my perspective of the world" in seimei's mind). kido doesnt rlly feel anything personal towards seimei. theres no resentment, or pity, he's literally Just A Guy.

in a roundabout way , i don't think kidomaru has a specfic kind of people he hates personally. despite what some might assume , he has no respect for evil ( oftentimes, he is fascinated by just how evil people can be —— but he is fascinated in the same way people are entertained by tragedies , he's appalled ) if anything , he has a higher respect for those who are altruistic , because he genuinely thinks altruism doesn't exist. however, in the end , he wouldn't personally dislike someone for being cruel ( he is awfully cruel himself , after all ) but !!! that brings me to my point , he would dislike someone who is similar to himself. holding contempt for someone else would insinuate that he considers himself better , and kidomaru has nothing but a dirt poor opinion of himself. therefore, his own self - hatred informs his disdain for others.

i'm always entertained by the fact that kido's character growth went from “ humans and demons fundamentally cannot coexist ” to “ humans and demons can't even coexist with themselves, never mind each other ... therefore coexistence is a moot point from the start ”. like its so bleak , but in the context of onmyoji , yeah, worldview ( kinda ) checks out
