You know what the easiest thing to blog about is? 

Your very existence as it is taken away from home, unrestricted to discover new nooks and crannies in the world. Travel, even when it is as structured as it tends to be for me while on family vacation, is so freeing. This past Labour Day Weekend, we took to the beautiful winding, mountainous roads in Vermont and beyond to arrive at Cape Cod, Boston and Providence. 

There is a regional loveliness that is portrayed in my favourite teen series Dawson’s Creek (set in Capeside, Massachusetts) that is undeniably present wherever we went on this road trip. The east coast feel is thick and hits you square in the nose with softly salty air and hospitality and charm that makes your average Canadian feel especially loved. The scenery stretches before you in the form of oceans, coves, sand dunes, picturesque houses and cobble stone roads. Everywhere you look you have to remind yourself that you are not Joey Potter.

And though I’m personally one to romanticize collegiate life, especially of the American variety (blame the WB Network), it is very hard not to indulge yourself in the daydreaming as you walk across Ivy League campuses. Though Harvard Yard is famed, Brown’s campus in Providence is the ideal story-telling backdrop for loves lost and found.

I don't know what it is about this part of the US, but it is addictive, a perfect driving distance away, and quick to welcome you back, over and over again.
