لا تقرأ من أجل المعارضة والتفنيد، ولا من أجل الإيمان والتسليم، ولا لأجل جلب الحديث، ولكن اقرأ لكي تزن الأمور وتتمعن فيها. إن بعض الكتب ينبغي أن يُذاق، وبعضها يجب أن يُزدرد، والبعض القليل خليق أن يُمضغ ويٌهضم.. ذلك أن بعض الكتب ينبغي أن يُقرأ منها شيء، والبعض ينبغي أن تُقرأ ولكن ليس بالحرص التام، وقليلة هي تلك الكتب التي يجب أن تقرأ كاملة، وبكامل الاجتهاد والانتباه

So much of our pain is caused by one simple thing: when we’re faced with a difficulty, we depend on ourselves, instead of Allah.

العبد لو اجتهد مهما اجتهد لا يستطيع أن يقوم لله بالحق الذي أوجبه عليه، فما يسعه إلاَّ الاستغفار والتوبة عقيب كل طاعةThe servant, no matter how much effort he expends, cannot carry out his duties toward Allah in the way that He has commanded him, and for this reason he can do nothing but pray to God forgiveness and make repentance after every act of worship.

And one has to understand that braveness is not the absence of fear but rather the strength to keep on going forward despite the fear.

He could not see what was ahead except that it was all open… It looked endless: wild and lonely and free.
