The Rainbow Mist

There are more little shorts I want to work on relating to this comic (and hope to have physical copies at some cons I show at next year) but for now I'm on a bit of a break as I finish my convention runs for the year. I'm tabling at Auckland Spring Armageddon later this month and then freedom!

I'm terrible at updating this comic on tumblr! It's almost finished over on Insta now so I really need to upload a few more times before it is done. Also drawing in Macaque's art style continues to deal psychic damage to me. :3

I am back from my back to back convention weeks so able to start uploading more of the comic! Massive shout-out to the Monkie Kid fans in Australia! It was an absolute joy meeting you all, thank you so much for the support! I sold out of a number of Monkie Kid prints and the last of my standees. ;o; Hope I can get into Melbourne Oz Comic Con next year and see you all once more.

Next six pages. :) Going to try and do a few uploads each week to catch up. I did the inks for some of these while I was away on holiday seeing family back in Asia, so they sat without markers for ages until I got back to NZ.

I have been meaning to share it on Tumblr for a while now, and with page 50 going up on Instagam later today I figured I could do them in batches of six pages at a time on Tumblr until I catch up. :)

I didn't have anything new to add for the Takeover today but I have this old Shadowpeach doodle from a while back to offer all the same. @kyri45 has an amazing comic that is honestly the main reason I returned to Tumblr so I could read it. Absolutely top peak writing and artwork that I'm sure every Monkie Kid fan has been reading (but if you haven't, now's the time!)

Slowly going to upload all my old Monkie Kid art from last year before I start sharing the newer stuff I guess? :) Some col-erase pencil sketches I decided to throw some markers onto. I miss winter so much!

I love how the fandom has pretty much labeled the Banyan Tree on the Beach as 'The Shadowpeach Tree'. :3

I haven't uploaded to my tumblr in years! Anyhow, just shy of two years back one of my besties showed me Monkie Kid and it kind of became something super special to me. Re-kindling my love of Journey to the West (I still remember the 1996 Dicky Cheung version on TV when I was growing up in Hong Kong) and spurring a love for drawing the LMK characters. Been lucky enough to meet a lot of fellow fans at cons around the country too. Most of my stuff gets shared on my Instagram, but I'll try to slowly move some of them over here too. I'm still doing everything with inks and markers, because I am stubborn but also still slow with digital media.
