Something that I think is important about the finale is that it isn’t just Alison being honest and standing up for what she needs, Patty and Diane do it, too. Patty stops trying to change herself for Tammy and she finally faces the issues with Neil. And Diane didn’t trap herself in another relationship with a man she’d have to take care of. She looked at the guy she bailed out of jail and spent more than six months with and went ‘It’s not my job to fix you’ and that’s the part that meant the most to me because it’s so normalized to see women going ‘I can handle this’ or ‘I can change this’ and no! She does the hard thing and tells Neil it’s his job and ugh, it was so good, I’m so proud of all of them.
