BEYOND HUMAN CHALLENGE !

Hi !

I'm joining this challenge a little bit late as I couldn't manage to gather enough time to do this challenge properly. But I got some idea in mind that I wanted to draw, so here are my research. I don't expect to finish the challenge at all, it's really just about being part of this challenge.

So, the pitch this time :

Humanity evolved a lot, mastering robotics/cybernetics. Some of them were looking for a way to be free from the limits imposed by the human body. They decided to get rid of the human body, only keeping brain & spinal cord as theses parts are the main component of the human soul and implant theses on a cybernetic exoskeleton.

Here are the first research on this :

There will be a lot of cable, floating elements, and the character won't be "human" as they don't need the whole body to live anymore. The only remaining parts are for commodity and/or a way to keep an elusive track of their past condition. The "bubble brain" or "brain in aquarium" thing will be the recurent element between all my characters.

This is an illustration created for the Character Design Challenge (a facebook group). The theme of this month was "Carnival of Venice".

I worked on a stiltdancer. It was really hard to find a dynamic pose with theses straight stilt breaking the curve of the figure, but I think I manage to create something interesting.

Hum, with one hour left, and still many character to paint, I can say I'll be way behind the deadline :D

I'll probably try to finish all 10 character anyway, just to end the project I worked on for 2 weeks.  This challenge was a really great opportunity to push me to my limits, having to work on many character in a really short time. I've learned a lot of really cool tricks throughout the challenge, and I've also discover many way to improve my workflow on character design.

Pffuuu, That was a long time since the last post !

Here’s my latest piece. I’ve been really pleased by Sombra, the new Overwatch character, so here’s an attempt to draw her. As usual, I’ve struggled a lot with hair, but I feel like I’ve really improved throughout the process of this illustration.

I’ve took the figures I made few days ago, and I’ve tried to work on one of them to create different characters with the same figure as a base.
