They're calling each other 'bro' and 'babe' in the same sentence

Kes takes Jayden to his big family gatherings even before they're an official couple

Their way of showing affection is bickering

After getting together not much changes for them. In front of others they barely kiss or hold hands, but alone at home they can sometimes be very cute and gentle

The first time one of them says "I love you" both of them are baffled. Because? This is a real thing now? And they're together now? And they love each other? And it's so scary but wonderful and exciting

Jayden adores Kes' hair. He tries to convince him to let it grow to shoulder length, so he can make a man bun and Jayden can die from that view

They make cringy tiktoks together

Adopting their dog is kind of like a promise to each other. Since both of them aren't good with spelling stuff out this is their way of saying: we have a baby now to look after and we have to do this together. We have to stay together for a long while now

Once Jayden accepted himself and his sexuality he is super hyped up about attending pride. And wears his pride flag super proudly, even for his dog he bought a small pride bandana

While Kes is more like casual and a little overwhelmed by the whole event. And just smiles fondly when he sees how happy Jayden is.

They go on long road trips together, their dog always with them in the backseat. They travel the world together and never ever get bored

They support each other no matter what. Like, it doesn't matter how crazy and dumb the ideas sound they always stand by each other's side, which sometimes results in the most dumbass decisions

They smile ALWAYS while kissing

Their first time was the messiest and funniest and at the same time softest thing ever

They call Luc the "baby gay" even though it took them wayyy longer to come to terms with their sexualities

I have thought about a few things and discussed some details with @dreamy-slytherin AND:

they’re absolutely together before they realise they’re together.

when they go to college Jayden could easily stay in the flatshare but when he casually and almost jokingly mentions to Kes that they should get a flat so they can smoke anytime and play as much video games as they want Kes is just like “okay :)”

they have a little two bedroom flat but Kes is used to being around his family at all times and Jayden has awful insomnia no one actually knows about until they spend a lot of late nights sat together silently watching tv in the living room

this is the ONLY time the flat is quiet, the rest of the time is chaos

Lucas only isn’t living with them because he’s living with Jens, and of course they visit all the time, and Jens is the first to realise how oddly domestic Kes and Jayden are

they’re planning to sleep on the pull out sofa when they stay over and Kes is just like “bunk in my room, I’ll stay with Jayden” and Lucas doesn’t seem phased so Jens is just like oookay

Kes has developed a routine before bed that helps Jayden fall asleep including lots of hot chocolate he learns to keep stocked (because Jayden absolutely refuses his suggestion of warm milk)

this instance when vds are staying is the first time they share a room and neither of them think anything of it until they realise they sleep 100 times better together

Kes cooks breakfast and dinner for them without a thought

Jayden does things like dishes and the washing because Liv always made him do this and he’s just never going to learn to cook

so basically they’re a domestic couple long before any kissing or anything is involved

their game nights start to involve a lot more play-fighting that’s more about touching than trying to win anything

they’ve always been naturally affectionate because it’s just generally natural to Kes and Jayden feels safe to request it of him but this ups to maximum levels after living together for a while

Jayden ends up falling asleep on Kes on the sofa more times than not

Kes physically can’t be in close proximity to Jayden anymore in social situations without always reaching out to bump shoulders or ruffle his hair or just sitting with his arm over Jayden’s shoulders

it takes Jens literally going “so...are you like a couple now??” for them to realise they’ve started to catch Feelings

(Luc is positively Shook and freaks out to Jens on numerous occasions because oh my god it’s so obvious but hOW)

other random headcanons:

Jayden is the one to struggle with his feelings more because he’s used to not really caring about things and Kes is so casually affectionate and nice to everyone that he thinks he’s imaging it

neither of them knows who initiates their first kiss (but it very quickly becomes their favourite activity)

they’re quiet about their relationship in public beyond their old casual touches of an arm over the shoulder or just sitting close together

in quieter spaces like parks or in the comfort of their friends they’re not as shy about being playful and stealing kisses

Jayden loves being cuddled but he physically can’t not be holding Kes, so he either has to be the big spoon or cuddled into Kes’s chest where he can still hug his waist

they absolutely get a dog

Jayden and the pet make an extremely chaotic duo

Kes is constantly even more tired because now it’s impossible to put the dog or his boyfriend to bed

Kes thinks the dog doesn’t like him at the start but it’s because it instantly attaches to Jayden and they are BOTH jealous

then the pup realises Kes actually does give very good cuddles and belly scratches and Kes pretends to be annoyed by how affectionate it becomes as well

Kes constantly joking about having to take care of “two over-excited pups”
