I guess the World Cup is over now. well. It was really fun while it lasted. I will go back to the Bundesliga after a ten year hiatus and also start supporting my local teams. yippee

A sleepy old man with blue eyes at the train station asked me to help him board the train. We are going to the same stop. He is from Iran. I told him I wanted to see the blue mosque in Isfahan and he gave me his phone number and told me he would take me there 😭😭😭

There was no room in the British pub so I ended up going to a brunch place with a Mexico fan cheering for England who was also in line to get in 😭😅 it was just us two and we had never met before, we were just complaining about Argentina together in the line to get in…we ended up becoming good friends and it turns out we went to the same university almost at the same time and we both studied history and international relations. I told him to join the local Mexican American historical association and we talked about our favorite professors. He’s an England fan and took tons of English history classes so I asked him why the English were the three lions. He said it’s on their crest. I said but why is it on the crest. Is it for Richard the lionheart? And we looked it up and it was (among other Lionhearts). In short I don’t know Ball but I know ball. And now I have to go home and hear my husband laugh at me for accidentally ending up on a date because today I had jury duty but it was cancelled so I ended up at the pub yelling at a screen for a team I don’t care for. (No; the guy didn’t try to make it romantic, he was just a nice person but I am not beating the extrovert allegations)

Naaaaurrr not the British pub playing “mad world” while the English fans slump down onto the hot cement in defeat. This is so ugly. I should want their pain but it doesn’t feel good
