When someone I thought was an artist turns out to be using gen AI, I block them, spread the word, and move on. That is only assuming there is undeniably evidence of their AI use.

AI image detectors do not count as evidence btw. They're unreliable and you're just feeding whatever you're scanning into AI yourself. You're doing more harm than good, and we're creating a community full of paranoid consumers and artists who feel they have to post a speed draw with every art piece to prove their work is genuine. Personally, I find it feels invasive and discouraging. Posting your art can be nerve-wracking enough on its own without feeling like you're being judged for your process, but I digress.

I do not agree with the harassment of AI users. Just don't give them the time of day. Don't give them attention. It's what they want, and they're willing to take shortcuts to make that happen. The block button exists for a reason. Use it.

However... definitely bully large corporations that invest in AI. Make sure they know that we don't want their slop. Misdirected hatred towards those who use AI instead of those who are pushing for it in the first place isn't going to get us anywhere.

Why do people think that a community wanting a flag = them wanting to set up shop in the queer community? Because like... disability pride flags exist. Polyamory pride flags exist. Does being either of those automatically make you queer? No. Pride flags go beyond the queer community. There are probably a lot of examples I didn't name because I just don't know about them.

That being said, MAPs are not the only paraphiles who've made flags for themselves, and I have yet to come across a MAP who is actually "trying to be part of the queer community." Because they often already are, and it has nothing to do with them being a paraphile. They can be gay, bi, pan, acespec, etc. Just like anyone else.

If it turns out a character is canonically trans and you have a problem with it for *any* reason, I don't care how much you claim to not be transphobic, just know that I will be side eyeing you very intently from then on. I don't care if the character turned out differently from the version of them you created in your head. Creators know their own characters better than you ever will, and representation is far more important than whatever personal headcanons you might have had.

Fandoms have a serious problem with how creators are being treated these days.

Fandom creators spend hours of their free time to create something to make fandom thrive...for free and for the love of the game.

And what do they get? A wholeass heap of fuck all. No reblogs, no comments, no nothing. And people are surprised that creators are dropping out left, right, and centre??

"Why is there no long fic anymore?" "Why did my favourite writer stop?" "Why is my favourite artist not posting anymore?"

I implore you to ask yourself: "What's the last thing I did to support my fandom? Does my favourite creator know they are my favourite? When was the last time I left a comment under something?"
