“ so is it me, or is it super fucking awkward to find out that the girl that you were supposed to like, end up with, was actually fucking around with a guy that you considered a friend ? i won’t name names, but it all seems pretty fucked up to me. i don’t know what i’m going to do at the next family dinner when i have to go stag – maybe i could come up with a better reason as to why she’s not there ? ”

“so, i don’t know if this is something that most people know and i’m just late to the party, but i was browsing around on one of those ‘amazing facts’ lists and apparently some guy despises telemarketers so much that he legally changed his name to piss them off. little ol’ tim price became tim pppppppppprice just ‘cause he didn’t want them to bother him. i don’t know about anyone else, but i feel like that just causes more harm than good. imagine writing your signature as tim pppppppppprice. wouldn’t it be easier to just hang up instead of explaining to every potential employer or person who doesn’t know you that you changed your last night just to avoid telemarketers? i just want to know how he goes about life beyond the telemarketers.”

“uh, yeah. she’s left a few messages, and we’ve talked some - she wants to schedule something for me to do headshots and all that, but i dunno. i thik i’m still making up my mind about everything. why? has she said anything to you?”

“um yeah, she wanted to make sure you were comfortable. i told her i would help.”

“you caught me. i just don’t get the big deal, sorry. i’d give it a shot, but only for the food.” he likes when she talks. as someone who spends his time listening to himself, it’s always a treat to get lost in the life of someone else; and it doesn’t hurt that the way her face lights up when she gets going. “oh, they all blur together, go ahead and remind me.” he shakes his head at her request. “literally, i would do nothing but bore the shit out of you. you’re on a roll, finish the thought. it’ll give me time to dredge up something more interesting than my human geography final.”

kenna sat back and kind of felt more guilty as she poured out her life to him. whenever she tried to talk like this to anyone else, they would get jealous, mad or more envious. but charles at least acted like he cared. “no, please enlighten me on your wonderful adventures in the public school system.” 

 I got eggs thrown at me, because I stood on the side of the road with a sign that read protects trans women. Honestly, a few eggs is nothing compared to what they have to go through, so hit me with your best shot, but also listen to the message I’m trying to give out.
