My Oxford Year,
This movie feels like the color brown. Not in a dull or forgettable way, but in the way autumn feels brown. It’s warm. Cozy. Comforting. Like old bookstores, soft sweaters, worn in shirts you sleep in, tea stained memories. But underneath all that warmth, there’s something else too: a quiet, immersing sadness. A reminder that not all beautiful things last. And maybe, just maybe, that’s what makes them matter so much.
This is the story of a boy and a girl who want to love so deeply, but find themselves racing the clock to do it. I think this movie taught me that life isn’t about the plan. Or at least, the plan isn’t meant to be perfect. Life is about allowing yourself to love. Welcoming the spontaneity. Living, and loving, within the uncertainty. And still choosing joy anyway. In the end, you’ll be proud of the life you lived, not because it went how you expected, but because you weren’t afraid of the unknown. You strayed. You stumbled. You learned. You embraced the uncertainty.
And honestly? That thought alone, that gift this movie gave me, is something I might just carry with me forever.
