What's done?

I'm glad you asked that! Right now we're halfway there to the demo release with some mechanics done and to be polished:

Fishing Mechanic

Here we have the fishing mechanic! This took me 2 weeks or so to code, make sure everything works, fix bugs, etc.

I've tried to upload a gif but for the life of me I can't do it :C

Basically, it works kind of like in stardew valley in the sense that you have to reel it back and throw it to a certain distance, then, after some time, the game begins! You'll have to lower a hook and do some roulettes correctly and after that you will catch the fish! Depending on the rarity of the fish, there will be more roulettes!

Bug Catching Mechanic

Works similarly to the Fishing Mechanic but there are some important differences I will keep secret for now ;)

You'll have to get close to certain spots and take out your Spiri-net (name not official)! Then it starts and you have to do the same roulette thing but in here, rarity only changes the amount of fail zones there are, not the amount of roulettes.

For this one I had an epiphany and I was able to do it in like a week, I took some more time a few weeks later to fix bugs and do some polishing, it was really fun! ... Kinda.

Cooking Mechanic

This is the most recent mechanic I've been working on and it's almost finished, this has taken me like all December and part of January and I've had some crashouts over it (/j).

It works kind of like the system in Breath of the Wild, ingredients have adjectives or attributes and the resulting dish's buffs and most important adjective is determined by them.

The way it is done it lets you try and play around with ingredients to see what comes out thanks to a tag and specific system when making recipes... I won't explain too much because I don't want this post to get too technical.

Other Mechanics

The game has other systems like a relationship system that allows you to become friends or rivals with the NPCs (and, who knows, maybe even more than friends), a routing system to allow NPCs to travel between places, day and night cycle, seasons, weather, etc.

There are a a lot of mechanics done that I will not show to keep some of the magic and mystery alive (and totally not because I'm too lazy to take screenshots, frfr), besides, some of those mechanics need to be polished since I've focused in the main cycle of the game (the minigames, time system, etc)

And what about Art & Music?

I'm not working on that department and, if you guys want, I could show some advancements! I would have to ask the team what I can post (since there are some stuff we have to properly reveal, like NPCs).
