What helps you eat healthier?
A couple weeks ago I brought some dessert downstairs with me to eat before bed. Before eating the dessert I wanted to brush my teeth so that I could enjoy the dessert in bed with my favorite late-night programming (so bad, oh man). Without even trying, brushing my teeth diminished my appetite for dessert! I think this could be an awesome technique to help those who need to say “no” to junk food more often.

We all eat food, and I’m assuming we all have food we drool over.
“Journey”
A friend told me the other day that they’re so excited to see where my journey takes me. My emotional, critical-self immediately reacted with “what about where I am now? What about the successes of my current journey? Isn’t there a whole quote on enjoying the journey not the destination?”
Obviously this comment had good intentions. However, it has made a shift in the way I’d like to compliment people in the future. I want to make a conscious effort to appreciate the current successes of myself and others. Hey, you’ve got your basic needs, and you find fulfillment out of your job? You’re doing pretty great. You’re not where you want to me? That’s awesome, because you have a goal that you’re striving for.
I’ve got big dreams. Dreams that terrify me so much that my bones shake a little and small random muscles twitch. But that’s what makes life rewarding. Those twitches are followed by small successes that are essential to reaching certain destination. Those successes matter and deserve as much appreciation as the destination.

Today I heard my co-worker say: "The moon is in sync with us. The super moon came right after the election. It gets bigger for big life events." Well. Trump may be president elect but at least the moon got bigger to distract us *facepalm*
