I kicked off the Women Leading Kentucky Fall Roundtable Series as the featured speaker today. With a ticket price of $35 per person, the 150 seat luncheon sold out long before the date arrived.
Preparing a 20 minute presentation was not something I was unfamiliar with however, the audience for this event needed more… something more inspirational than factual, more storytelling than prose, more humble than experienced. I spoke of unpretentious upbringings, challenges in the industry, social media opportunities and ultimately, how risk and creativity provide the fundamentals for success.
In the end, we cried (as we talked about how breast cancer had affected many of us) and a closing board member stated, “we just love you – I wish I could put you in my pocket and take you home.” I was flattered, to say the least. This opportunity was one that no dollar amount could have secured and one that will forever be remembered in my professional career.
I shot my second commercial for Holly Day Market - Junior League of Lexington today. Look for this amazing shopping event in November at Alltech Arena, located at the Kentucky Horse Park. You can shop for a cause all in one place!
