Your name fell from his lips - your real name, not one of his many pet names. Not Doll. Not Princess. Not Onee-san. It caught you off guard - and judging but how he stopped mid-sentence, a distant confused look in his eyes.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Ramuda!” You leaned in, pressing a kiss to his cheek before grabbing your bag and running towards the station.
“Yeah, see you tomorrow!” He watched as you disappeared down the block, wondering what just happened. Sure, he knew your name this whole time - he knows all the women who beg for his attention names - but to use it, that was something he was confused about. He called his friends by name, but that was because he didn’t want to distance himself from them.
“Hi!” You ran up to Ramuda, throwing your arms around his shoulders - pressing a kiss to his cheek, “I got you something!”
You pulled away, opening your back and pulling out a pastry box. You had stopped by the cafe before coming over, picking his favorite strawberry cream tart up to cheer him up since he didn’t seem right when you left him yesterday.
“Oh, thank you.” His voice was different, deeper and less filled with that unwavering cheer that he would normally speak in. In fact, he wasn’t as bubbly and cheerful as he normally was. He smiled - a soft smile that was nothing like his blinding grin, but a shy boyish one that made him look like he was unsure.
Again. He said your name just above a whisper - you’re gaze falling to his hands, his grip on the box was tight and he was nearly crushing the pastry. You put a hand over his and he blinked seemingly returning back to normal, cheerful Ramuda.
“I think I like you too much!” He giggled and pinched your cheek, turning heels and marching off towards his apartment.
