Not a question, I just discovered Darkest Powers the other day and finished The Reckoning this morning. I loved it so much I'm already rereading it to tie myself over until I can get the rest from my library, and as a paranormal fiction author, myself. You've really inspired me to write something a lot longer than I normally do

Hi Kelley, Iām not sure if youāre active on here as much. Iām a big fan of the Otherworld series and after re-reading a billion times, Iāve started on the audiobooks. Itās like an added way to escape back in to this universe! However, there are so many titles missing from the series on the UK Audible :( the ones that are missing are:
Bitten
Stolen
Frostbitten
Spell Bound
Otherworld Chills
Men of the Otherworld
Tales of the Otherworld
Otherworld Nights
Otherworld Secrets
All of the other ones in the series are available which is really odd. Just wondered if you knew if it was a licensing issue or something?

I know. Itās an ongoing issue that Iām struggling to resolve with the publisher. There doesn'tā seem to be a lot of interest in resolving it on their end, and I canāt personally do anything (other than periodically email to remind them itās still an issue--in both the UK and Canada)

Knowing the author doesn't have control over the cover, I was wondering if you know why we Canadians didn't get a matching cover for This Fallen Prey with City of the Lost and A Darkness Absolute? I love to have my covers matching, and now they won't, and I'd like to know why, if you know :) Thanks for writing such amazing books!
Yeah, I know readers hate that. What happened is that I switched to a different imprint at the same publisher, one that does more mystery/thrillers, and they decided to start matching the US cover (and the US also switched to a new style of cover with this book) Thatās what seems to happen early in a series, as they try to decide what cover best represents the books. I think I have about 8 English language covers for Bitten!

Sorry! I havenāt updated that list in a while. This is a Cainsville story. It doesnāt have an official description, but the informal one Iāve given isĀ āIn Betrayals, one of our antagonists is a rogue Huntsman. In the final battle, he tries to tell his story, as every good villain does, right? The tale of personal injustice that led to their villainy, blah, blah. Except Liv doesn't let him. As she says, "This isn't the time for backstory" ;) So now he gets to tell it, in a short story called Hounded..ā
Hi Kelley, I have just finished Bounty Hunt and Driven, and even though it makes me very sad that Otherworld series is finished, I don't think I could have read any other ending. You are an amazing writer and absolutely loved Xaviere Daumarie art, which brings me to my little question, I have seen online some bookmarks withe Otherworld main characters, but I can't find it anywhere to buy. Itās running VERY behind. Sorry! There was a miscommunication with the publisher. But Audible is recording both Betrayals and Rituals now, and theyāre both expected out in October.
Missing cover reveal
No, Iām not missing a cover reveal. Thatās the problem with having a book that was retitledĀ āMissingā :)Ā
So Missing is my 2017 YA novel, previously known as "Reeve's End" :) Like The Masked Truth, this one's a standalone thriller. It'll be out next April, As for what itās about,Ā the synopsis is below.
And, yes, Iāve been terribly quiet on Tumblr. Iāve been quiet most places on social media, deep in writing and revisions, but Tumblr has gotten the worst of my inattention. I will be trying to catch up on my questions--Iām making a note to do that. Sorry!

LOL Itās more a case ofĀ ācats donāt like himā because heās a werewolf. Heās learned to be wary of them. Chloe will need to get him a kitten, raise it to be accustomed to his smell ;)

Hey there. First time caller, long time fan. You've probably had this question often, but in Haunted you mention three werewolves. A pirate werewolf, one in Alaska, and then one in serial killer hell. I'm guessing that the Pirate Werewolf was Daniel from Bitten, but were we suppose to know the other two? I couldn't find a Marcello in Bitten or Stolen. Thanks :)
Nope, it was just Daniel. Good catch! Itās an Easter egg that many readers donāt pick up--thereās no way for Eve to know who Daniel Santos is, so she canāt ID him in the book :)
Hi Kelley! I just finished City of the Lost yesterday and it was phenomenal. My copy went straight to my all-time-favorites shelf. While I was reading I couldn't help but think how amazing it would be if this was a TV show. I think Kristin Kreuk would make the perfect Casey! Have you seen the show Beauty and the Beast? Her character is a cop and I could totally see her in Casey's shoes (she's also half Asian). I know there's only 2 books contracted but is it possible there will be a 3rd? 4th?etc
Iām certainly hoping for more! Itās being positioned as a series, so the publishers expect itāll be more than two...I just never say anything definitively until Iāve signed a contract. But Iāll be starting to write book 3 next month, so thatās a sign that Iām confident itāll continueĀ :)
Its hinted in Frostbitten that Elena's mother was a werewolf descendant and that's why she was the first, known, female to survive the bite. Is there a chance/higher probability that Clay's family might have some pre-disposition since he survived it so young?
Sheās definitely not the first to survive. There are bios of a few others in the Legacy, which Xaviere illustrated for Becoming. In the books, Elena isĀ just the only known one currently alive, and thatās just because so few people--of either sex--survive a bite. Clayās case was unique. He sought it out, which helped. Being young helped--more resilient, rolling with the changes rather than fighting them. And he was in a place where he was unlikely to be killed by others, until Malcolm found him and Jeremy took him in, which was the final important factor in his survival. All that would have meant he didnāt need any actual werewolf blood.
I know the books and tv series took different paths but do you have a reaction to that intense finale?
I, uh, have never watched the show. Sorry! But byĀ āintenseā I hope you mean you enjoyed it, whatever it was. I had some idea of what was going on in season one, from readers, but I havenāt heard much from them since then. I wasnāt even aware the series finale had aired :)
Hi Kelley! I love and admire your storytelling, so am having another go at writing a novel myself. I was wondering how much you pay attention to proper formatting while writing. I find that I'll have a trail of thought but sometimes get caught up in the specifics in terms of formatting/punctuation. How important is this in a first draft? Is it best just to get the story out and edit later?
Every author has a different method. For me, writing a first draft is about letting go of that internal editor and just letting the story flow, not worrying if Iāve left out a comma or echoed a word three times in a paragraph. All that does come out in editing. And editing. And editing. Thatās the price for doing the fast first draft--lots of editing :)

Has REEVE'S END been re-titled MISSING, or is that another book entirely? (MISSING is available for pre-order on UK bookseller websites, publication circa April 2017.)
Yep, it was retitled by the publishers. I just havenāt announced anything until I get to share the cover. And I keep calling it Reeveās End anyway :)Ā
Will you be coming back to Cookstown library? Each time you've been there I've tried to make it but somethings gone wrong.
I think the closest Iāll be to there is the Springwater library in Midhurst on June 4.
