Mastery Reflection journal
The Digital Storytelling and branding course opened my eyes to how I should be interacting and being aware of branding publicity. Before I took this class I thought I was going to be able to use my storytelling skills to strengthen brand awareness within my selected company. Instead it taught me the ins and outs of analyzing brands through the connections that the consumer has with said brands. How being affected emotionally through product satisfaction, or customer service will play a huge part in being a returning consumer and having a stronger connection in the industry. Also I will say that I did not expect this class to be so challenging. I started this class thinking it would be a breeze but some of the assignments definitely stopped me in my tracks because I am used to creating rather then analyzing feedback and facts. Having said that, I was able to intertwine my abilities of paying close attention to details within my skills of analyzing photographs by using those skills to then analyze strong and weak brands.
Before I started this program I noticed, just by personal experience, that some brands are stronger then others. Having finished this course, I can now fully conduct my own analysis as to why they are stronger and what they could improve on. Being able to put together a brand strategy for my company More Than More has really helped me plan and create a successful marketing plan after I graduate from Full Sail, which is part of my mastery plan. Obviously to apply what I have learned so far to my business is something that I have been planning for a couple years now. I could have started it already but without knowing my target market, or how I want the consumers of my product to feel when they see my photographs, would have set me back in the long run. All in all, I really enjoyed being able to use my creative writing skills to create an emotional story that connects the consumer to the brand.
