What song makes you feel better? I have a whole list of chill out songs that I like to feel better to, but I'm gonna list my top 5.
1) Life as a Flower - it's from the videogame Flower. It's just such a soft gentle song. No lyrics, no epic ramp up, just a gentle guitar, some drops of piano, soft strings like a quiet breeze, whenever I REALLY need to chill, this is what I put on
2) Horizons - Also from a videogame. Youtube recommended it to me forever ago and I was like "yeah why not" but it's so soft and quiet. I've always struggled with feelings of losing my home, not being home etc, but this is probably the first song I've heard that makes finding your way home actually sound incredibly wistful and like a wonderful journey to go through rather than something sad or traumatizing. Like sure, it can be sad, but there's a certain beauty to wandering until you find home. Sometimes I listen to it just because it calms me down and its harmonies at the very end just hit something in my heart so good
3) Everything stays - An adventure time classic. I barely even watch adventure time lol. Just an episode or two here and there. This song though, hit me in the GUT the first time I heard it. Similar to point above, I've always struggled with change in my life, and this song made me okay with it. It made me really realize about the inevitability of change, even if I leave everything the same, time still changes things around me. Things age, sunlight fades things, things grow, things break, things get created, things die, even if I never leaved the same house, if I never changed anything about it, it would STILL change around me. And now it's just a nice song for me to listen to whenever I need to chill
4) Roxas' theme piano - Is it really a keet music list without at least one kingdom hearts song on it? I love basically all versions of Roxas' theme, but this one gets a special shoutout because out of all the versions, this one really feels like it has a progression the most. It starts out dark, somber. It lightens up but it's still sad. But then you start reaching the end and... it feels almost like a ray of hope is popping out, like the sun rising after a very long and cold night and you know that you will feel warm again. It just has this little hope attached to it, and it's just everything to me
5) Dearly Beloved Kingdom hearts BBS - I had a lot of songs I could put here, not sure what made me pick Dearly Beloved in the end (right now, I could probably list off at least like 3-4 on the tip of my tongue), but I am a kingdom hearts fan at heart. All the dearly beloveds are great. There's the classic one, there's the playful one, we even got a jazzy one with the KH rhythm game whose name I forgot. But something about the BBS one is so wistful to me? It feels more gentle than the other versions, and that french horn in it is just 🤌🤌🤌🤌none of the other ones have the French horn, and it just adds a flavor to it
What is your go to comfort show? - I really need to find one. Once I watch a show I struggle to rewatch it again all the way to the end without getting bored. I don't have a show I like to watch whenever I'm stressed. I just don't. I actually can't even watch shows when I get stressed. If I were to list SOMETHING, literally idk, Legion of Superheroes is an oldie but goodie, Noragami was a fave for a while, Sasaki and Miyano was so adorable, Yuri on Ice is also one that I return to from time to time. Hilariously specifically the first episode of trigun stampede, although do not be mistaken I love ALL of it. Hmm thinking about it rn, hilariously, I always try to find someone on twitch currently streaming a first time run of Little Nightmares 2. I have such fondness for that game it's not even funny. It got emotions out of me during a time when I was really dead inside. I was FURIOUS. I was UPSET. I was DEVASTATED. and it was AWESOME. I've yet to experience literally anything that hit me as hard as Little Nightmare 2's ending has, even now that I'm actually experiencing emotions again. Nothing compares.
Reading or Writing why? - writing. My first degree is literally creative writing. I wanted to work in entertainment. I just love telling stories. It's also how I process myself and things going on around me the best. I think anyone can write, they just have to find the thing that's fun for them to write.
What's your favorite feeling? - I just love being with my dog. He's my whole world. I'd fight a bear for him. And then the fact that he loves me back, just as fiercely, it really warms my heart. I really love it when other people are loving on him. Yes. He IS the bestest boy. Please give him ALL the pats! He would love that! I just love seeing him happy. It feels me with such joy seeing this little critter that I raised and take care of having a good time. When he sees a field of open grass, and takes off running, and then loops around back to me, but he wants me to chase him, so I chase him and his tail is wagging so fast he's about to take off flying with it. I love seeing that big ol' smile on his face that he's having the bestest time. But the best, the absolute best, is at night. He sleeps on top of my covers, but cuddles right up into me. Last night, he started feeling a little crummy (I think he has a cold) so he was struggling to sleep. Kept getting up rolling over, trying a new position. I got up to ask him what was up, what did my little buddy need? He wanted to be in my lap. It made him feel better enough to sleep. We JUST got reunited after an international move and he got out of mandatory quarantine. I still feel like everything is up in the air, but for the moment, him curled up in my lap because he needed his mom, I was home, and so was he. We are each other's homes. That's the best feeling
How do you like to take care of yourself? I wish this was worded a little more specifically. Gonna answer it as my initial read. I like to keep two versions of me in my head, there's Past-Me and Future-Me. Past-Me's job is to take care of Future-Me. Future-Me's job is to have Past-Me's back when a ball gets dropped. Ideally, you live in a balance so that no single Me is getting overworked or overwhelmed, both are being productive and taking opportunities to rest. So like, packing a lunch the night before for Future-Me to have a smooth morning, but let's say the day was really stressful and I just don't have time, feel shitty or whatever, Future-Me can pick up that slack. About to enter classes again for my second degree, so ideally, do homework ahead of time as possible, but again, if I just can't, I can trust Future-me to get things done in time. Just don't leave everything to them
What's your favorite scent of candle? I don't like scented candles, sorry
Who do you feel most yourself around? My dog. He doesn't care. He doesn't judge me. He doesn't see me as a gender or a role. He just loves me
Whats a texture/fabric that's most nostalgic for you? Not a texture per say, but the smell of fresh laundry. It just smells like family to me
Best childhood moment - I don't think I have a single best moment in my childhood. I was a pretty happy kid. I have lots of memories of good moments and good times. The times I miss the most was being a junior in high school, eating lunch in the art room with my friends, and using the projector to play avatar the last airbender while we ate
When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried? (or just felt really good afterwards) Almost always with my friends haha! I don't even remember what the joke was anymore, all I know is that I couldnt stop laughing, I couldn't breathe and right when I was finally calming down, my friend Nick just like "Keet's really struggling" (cuz I was genuinely gasping by that point) and instantly just began laughing horribly all over again and yes I infected everyone else too. I think we were playing DnD or something?
Do you have a comfort item? Tell us about it! Two! A pillow pet I bought at disney when the band went there that's a cheetah and this huge stuffed black lab that I got from toys-r-us when I was like 4 years old. I still sleep with her every night
What calms you down? depends on what I need calming down from. Usually the answer is, riding it out :/ I have very few guaranteed "this will calm me" type things, if any. Going on walks in nature might make me feel BETTER but I don't think they calm me down. I had a friend who, for a while, just hearing their voice was like INSTANT SOOTHE button in my brain, idk why but it was fantastic. Lately tho, it's been a little weird with them so I haven't been able to use that life hack
Bath or shower to relax? shower, what am I supposed to do in a bath after I'm done washing just sit and let the water go cold??
Whats something upcoming that you’re excited for? ooh a couple things. On the forefront, I'm going to start classes for my second degree soon, I've missed being a student so hella excited
Comfort food? Listen, I love rice. As long as it's not spicy or in general have spices I dislike, I'll enjoy any dish with rice in it
What’s something you want to create soon? *sighs* my illustrated webnovel that I was supposed to start premiering uhhhh one and a half years ago, but life kept inturrupting me :/ latest inturruption=moving internationally X_X I am officially 11 days into my new country and I still haven't moved into where I'll be living longterm
How do you feel best loved? I mean quality time is always my standard answer, but honestly, I think just someone who won't just listen to me ramble about my interests or stories but actually like, remember what I say, engage with it as if it was already its own self actualized media, and talk head cannons theories, about my own OCs and stuff, I used to have a friend like that, and it was amazing
What age in life do you think you’ll feel most yourself at? I'm looking forward to my 30s, good things are lined up for me and I'll be able to work in an area I've always wanted and I now know (after much experimentation) I know I will love
Have you ever written or received a love letter? No :( I mean, I'VE written a confession, but without the intention of it being reciprocated. I have a weird relationship with... relationships. I want to be in a QP which complicates things, but my biggest issue, whenever I feel like someone likes me, or even likes me back, I am suddenly filled with anxiety and want nothing to do with them. That being said, I have also never received a genuine love letter. At least, I don't think so? There was my neighbor that one time when we were like 7 but like, I don't know how much of it was genuine and how much of it was like, he was homeschooled and we were best friends and I was the only "girl" he was kinda close with so he assumed that that meant we had to be together? idk that was a weird relationship in my life, we don't keep touch
