What kinda music do you like?

Oh this is a fun question. I don’t mind the “off topic” questions at all.

My favorite type of music is probably rock/metal. My favorite band is RED, and I’m devastated that the lead singer recently stepped down. But I’m also a big fan of both new and older bands like Skillet, Flyleaf, Evanescence (their new album is really good), Shinedown, Muse, Halestorm, Dorothy, just to name a few. I’m going to see Breaking Benjamin with Chevelle and Starset Labor Day weekend, and really excited for that.

But all that said, I do enjoy a lot of other types of music as well. I’m a sucker for ‘80’s music (songs of my youth!), as well as some classic rock (Jimi, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zeppelin, and I guess I could throw Billy Joel and Elton John in there too) 50’s and 60’s music (Frankie Valli is a personal favorite, and gotta love some Elvis), and even some swing/big band stuff my dad had me listen to growing up (Glen Miller and the like). Also some older country mixed in (Hank Williams Jr, Charlie Daniels Band). And if the mood fits me right, I’ll put on some classical music (I’m not well versed in the composers but I know the big ones).

I’m of the opinion that metal music is basically what some of the classical music evolved into. When there are pianos and strings added with the guitars and drums, oof it’s perfect. Which is why I love RED and Evanescence so much, they do that so well.
